Can I use miltary discout on hyped up shoes on release day at footlocker?

They will let you use it on certain items generally. Most of the time not any foamposite or jordan shoes which is why I just buy Brons. It also depends on whos working, if you know an employee they might let you slide.

You'll get conflicting information about this. The military discount is supposed to be applicable to all releases at Footlocker or any of its other stores, but the salesperson may still say no.

not ALL releases. FTL as a company puts certain products on the exemption list. They even disallow employee discounts on some shoes. If it's a hyped up release.... you probably aren't getting a discount; at least consistently. If its a product that's been sitting for a few days, then the probability increases... I think they remove the no discount restriction after 7 days.

What he said, certain releases are excluded from any type of discount (Military, VIP, Employee) but since Ive been here most releases are a ok with Military but cant exceed a certain percentage of the shoes sold. Alot of times it IS manager discretion though, the manager might be the one making the "rule" but its not a company thing.

the question was for hyped releases which would certainly be a no go.
FTL specifically treats Jordan / hyped releases with special rules. Definitely not a manager specific thing. Otherwise, you would consistently read the same members getting the "hookup" on every release with their military discount.
There is some truth to the % thing tho which is 20% of the inventory or 1 per employee for the 1st week but that's the policy for employee discounts on product. I cant remember if military is included in that total.

Regardless, a "hot" release will generally mean like 24-36 pairs for general stores. That's a discount for 4-6 people per release. Doesn't leave much wiggle room for a random dude with a military id.

what about for the lebron 11 coming out this weekend?  was thinking of heading to champs to pickup this weekend so i can use my military discount.. if not I would get them from eastbay to save on taxes.

probably something you should talk to your champs about. a shoe forum will not give you a more definite answer than what they can tell you in-store.

I wasnt saying you were wrong Bigj, What I meant by "What he said" was that you were right, I was just adding on a little bit of info thats all!.

Since ive been working here, Its not very often the company kills ANY type of discount, but you do have those managers that wont do it on any release date product, which is stupid especially if its gonna sit past the initial morning release.

For the Lebron XI it has not been excluded, It is eligible for Military but again comes down to the manager, so just check in with them before hand, so your not stuck Sat. Morning.

^^^ I see what you are saying. Im just saying Footlocker has been known to kill discounts on certain product types. Foams are not allowed for non-employee discounts on initial release, for example. They have sent specific emails stated that. They even said no employee discount on the golden states when they came out.
as far as jordans go, its rare you see anyone getting a discount that's not an employee due to the allocation/employee discount thing I mentioned earlier.

I do agree that some managers take it the extra step to avoid the discount but that's for more general products. hype products are almost an automatic no.

awesome man thanks.. there is a footaction, champs, and ftl in the mall, so hopefully one of tem will give me the discount.

I've been told by several HOH employees that it applied to all releases. I went to a different HOH and was told that the discount couldn't be applied on certain shoes (example: mint hyperposites)

Also, when the Toro 4s came out, I was told that I could use my military discount for those as well. I'm solely speaking from experience here, but from what I can tell it is very much discretionary like most things involving FTL employees.

guess I don't know what im talking about even tho I support what I say with facts. OP will get discounts on HOT releases as long as he goes to the right house of hoops. Footlocker does not send emails to managers excluding products. Its all the evil employees that hold the man down.

It actually goes by location. Different owners have different rules. In towns close to military bases they usually let you use it on everything so does many local places. The employees have the option to add the discount to any item. My footlocker/footaction doesnt do it on any shoe with a release date, and before under a different franchise owner you had to wait 2 weeks but after getting cool with the manager I get it applied to all my kicks except certain Limited releases where everyone is going to be questioning. I am military in a mlitary town.at cumberland In GA they let me use it on any shoes at the champs. But the company does not decide what locations give a discount and who doesn't. Thats why they say at participating locations.

riiiiiiiight. footlockers aren't like mom and pop shops where owners can run things the way they want to. you are definitely misinformed.

The nearest footlocker to me always let's me use it, any shoe.

Some footlockers in the past would be sheisty w/it.

Only shoe my footlocker didn't let me use my mil disc. on was the restock of the blk/red xi earlier this year. But she also said they weren't even allowed to use their own employee discount on those.

Footlocker footaction etc.. all can have a franchise owner, meaning you if you had the money and credibility can run your own stores under footlocker, and if you wanted to make a discount on any new release you have that option. but that money comes out of your bottom line based off the credit they give you. A franchise owners responsibility is to make the company money. The employees have the option to add the discount to any item but if it gets looked into they would have to explain. That is the reason different stores have different limitations. If footlocker made the rules there would be no discounts on any items they restrict on the websites. But at the end of the day the manager can give you a discount on anything. I have already looked into this years ago.

Whatever man, I'm just telling you what goes down when I go to cop shoes. The exclusions certainly aren't uniform, I know that much. In my area, there IS a 'right' house of hoops, and discounts* happen to apply to ALL shoes, and their inventory is better than the HOH with the employees that were quick to shoot down discounts on even the most remedial kicks.

*Speaking solely about military discounts, other discounts may not work the same

I work for Footlocker and they are NOT franchised, dont know who gave you your info but that is not the case...Some stores allow the discount and some dont based on manager. Footlocker excludes certain items from ANY type of discount, but it isnt very often that they do it.

what does the military discount take off????? both my parents were marines

lol but still gotta pay for my own shoes

Who cares lol. If you can't get a discount then just don't buy the shoes. What you gonna do print this out and tell the employee Look what they told me on NT lol
