IDGAF how much or rich the Knicks are, but Jackson getting 12 M a year is just hilarious.

I'm one of the people who felt like they could've threw money at another top tier GM as well, but I don't think them giving Jackson that amount is THAT crazy. You have to consider how much value he brings to the table without even factoring his future transactions. Bringing in Phil alone has brought a lot more excitement back to the franchise alone. Considering he is a mastermind with handling ego's and getting players on the same page, I think he can do some good things. If he does well, it worked out financially and winning wise. If he doesn't do well, it still worked out financially for the franchise itself.

Hell, the Knicks giving Phil all that money is much better than the Nets going after Jason Kidd as the head coach to make a splash

It's absolutely irrelevant how much money Phil gets paid.

It's relevant because its funny that the Knicks are paying a damn near 70 year old man who doesn't like to work hard anymore that much for a job he's never done before.

Nobody thinks the Knicks are going to miss that money, still doesn't mean it's a great investment

Lakers fans salty?

Why would they be? They wanted him to coach not just be President.

Plus son said he wasn't going to no away games, you can't win negotiating with that guy at this point.

He's at the age range/success level where he doesn't give a **** and will only do things his exact way

Which is why I don't understand him taking on James Dolan as his boss

If you say so.

The franchise value will say different...but you right.

What exactly does Phil do to boost their value?

As if the Knicks weren't already a billion dollar organization that sells out every game even with a sub par team and bad management

I'd understand if he was coaching but Mike Woodson is still coach, roster is still ******, still no picks, still Dolan. You saying free agents will want to come to NY now more than they already did? No way to prove that

They going to start selling his jersey?

Who comes off the books next year? The only big names coming off are Melo, Amare and Bargnani and they have ETO's.

I know you need to comment and say anything you can ******** on the Knicks but please, do the research at least first.

Phil brings them creditability in the front office.

That's his value.

Anything can be monetized, they can do what the Nets did for Coach Kidd on a much grander scale.

Plus Phil in the front office gives them credibility amongst the players, and above all else it appeases some of the angry fans.

By what he's done as a coach? That makes a lot of sense

Not like coaching and being in the front office are different or anything.

All the talk about him since he's signed on with NY has been about the triangle offense, ************* still think he's a coach.
