Then he gets a billion for selling the team.

oh well.

It would be nice if LAC won the title though. Owned the team for 30 years, they finally win a title and u can't participate in any of the festivities.

He probably don't care tho, he'll still get his billion fron the sale
Not to mention he owns the land the Staples Center is built on.

I been wondering this for awhile now, perhaps one of you guys know this.

But what was the area that Staples is built on, before staples was built? I don't remember what was there at all. I remember the parking structucres that were adjacent from it before LA live took over, but I don't remember what the area staples is built on was before it was built.

Any pictures or does anyone know? :nerd:

UCLA has decided to return a $425,000 gift from Sterling and reject the remainder of a $3 million pledge. http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/ucla-rejects-donald-sterling-gift

UCLA said Sterling, not the university, placed an ad in the paper, thanking him for the donation.

You know you did something bad when nobody (but lawyers, probably) even wants to take your donated money anymore.

Gets fined 2.5 million, gets his 3 million donation back.

Donald Sterling won.

Wasn't it more parking lots or auxiliary buildings/parking for a hospital? Now I'm curious...

I don't feel bad at all about how this all came out. An 80 year old billionaire business man who has spent most of his life screwing other people over should know who he can and can't trust. A woman less than half his age who clearly has celebrity aspirations should not be on the "trust" list. Donald has nobody to blame but himself for being a racist a-hole and getting caught for it.

Its the world we live in that pretty much anything we do can come into the public eye. But if you're careful and surround yourself with the right people, that shouldn't happen.

Or, you could also look at is simply as Karma is a witch and DTS is getting what he deserves. No need to feel bad or "dirty" about it.

Couldn't agree more

Despite my senior citizen status around here, I don't remember either. I was only in downtown LA maybe a couple times before Staples was built. It was probably just a bunch of old, crappy buildings and parking lots.
