he wont be 25 til like 2019 my dudes.....

Me either :smokin

Looking forward to tomorrow game's man. As much as Durant has been doing lately, to me this is the moment that I think NBA fans have been waiting on. It really doesn't get any bigger than this as far as the regular season is concerned. An opportunity against the league's best, and you're coming in on fire. Should be an awesome game to watch.

Miami by 5. Durant ends with 34 in a loss.

Thad Young just scheduled a charity event with his wife in Philly the day before the trade deadline....basically trying to make the Sixers feel bad if they trade him. That's kinda messed up.

This game is going to be an event. 11 straight 30 point games for Durant, LeBron says he's been watching, no Westbrook (hopefully no Wade) to "get in the way". LeBron better stick Durant from the tip off and try his hardest to hold him to like 25 points.

Has it been a really bad year for the NBA, or am I just tripping b/c my football team is doing well?

-Countless major injuries

-Really no great new teams.  Rockets are just okay.  Blazers are having a good regular season which they do every few years.

-Most squads just in stasis from last season (Clippers, Spurs, Heat, etc.) if they aren't actively disappointing like the Nets/Knicks, Cleveland, Wash, Timberwolves...

-Only group that's different to me and worth getting excited about as contenders is the Pacers coming into their own.

-Rookie class is absolutely god-awful

It's almost more fun to cheer for the tanking teams and think about next year's class.

Not to mention the likely 3rd consecutive season of cementing LeBron and Miami's legacy.  Whoop-dee-doo does that not get me excited.

Maybe it's cause I'm getting older but the NBA is boring as **** to me this year because there's literally only like 4 teams with even a slightest bit of a chance to win it all. I just haven't even felt like watching when we all basically know how it's gonna end up. Might as well just fast forward to Heat-Pacers and Thunder-Spurs already.

Curry threw up a LEFTY 3 pt attempt at the buzzer b/c he couldn't shake Ariza.

No, you're right. NFL always kills the other sports in America. Even if those played up to expectations it would be that way. IMO America doesn't like the individual game that the NBA has become.

Also, the NBA is highly predictable. A quick glance at a roster and you can tell who has a chance and who doesn't.

 It's your football team. I'm a Ravens and Wizards fan, guess what my preferred sport was last year? And guess what it is this year?

I've been paying way more attention to the NBA this season than I have in a while, and even though I could see how casual fans would say it's "boring" or "we already know who's gonna win" etc there have been a lot of exciting games and performances. The past few weeks have been great

But NBA's ratings have been steadily going up, to say that America isn't responding well to the 'individual' game is wrong imo. That's actually what most casual fans love about basketball, the last time ratings were this high was when Jordan was playing for the Bulls.

And is the NBA really that predictable? The Suns were supposed to be a 15-win team based on their roster, they're like 8 games above .500. Portland was supposed to miss the playoffs. OKC was supposed to struggle without Westbrook, and maybe drop to the 2nd or 3rd best WC team in the regular season.. and they're in first place because Durant is literally having one of the best scoring seasons since Jordan/Bird. I wouldn't call any of that predictable.

I mean the NBA has always been my favorite sport. Maybe I'm just getting tired of not having a team to root for because I haven't had a favorite player for a couple years and I hate seeing the Heat win.

Please god let the Bucks move to Seattle and get Embiid. That would change everything.

Yeah if my city lost their team I would def start to be pretty disillusioned after a while, can't argue with you there.

I really hope someone other than the Heat wins.. the NBA needs someone else to step into the spotlight

Ok. That's your opinion. I think it is predictable. The ratings still aint touching NFLs
Well obviously, this is America.

But that doesn't mean no one likes the NBA, the ratings have actually been going up and the NBA Finals destroyed the World Series in viewership the last few years (which hadn't happened in a long time)

Ok. Didn't mean to imply that no one likes it. That's just my pov. Beating baseball in ratings isn't hard either.

Why won't Kobe just shut it down at this point?

Because he got a 2 year/48 million dollar deal

I love the mamba, but that may be the worst contract ever.
Of course that contract was awful. Blame Jim Buss for that. But he's doing more harm than good over the long run of that contract. Why come back sooner and continue to have problems like this and potentially keep re-injuring it constantly over the last few years of him being there, which makes it look like even more of a waste of money.
