Those kids ain't in the league, they don't pay dues.

Every 19 year old in the league means a 33 year old is getting kicked out they have every incentive to keep them out of the L as long as possible.

The only hope is the agents influence the players to stop it, but they don't even have a union head.

That was the main reason for implementing the 1-and-done rule to begin with. Hasn't exactly solved the problem though

That's true but like you said before man the union isn't gonna pass it and I'd the league tries to in force in when the new CBA comes out theres gonna be another lockout

3. 1 extra year to evaluate which they THINK will lead to less busts. (no evidence of this.)

College does not "develop" NBA players, its one of the biggest myths in sports.

I said it before man and I'll say it again.

The d league gets a bad rap.

#1 and #3 pick in the 2013 draft had no reason to not be in the d league.

just didn't make sense.

The d-league is barley playing real basketball, they could fix the d league and actually try and develop players but they would rather have a free minor league system and a d-league so they can keep guys like Pierre Jackson from going overseas and making real cash, while pretending like they have a better shot of making the NBA from there.

nobody is stopping them from getting an education.

if you remember very few guys came out straight from high school, only elite prospects or guys who couldn't qualify, and if you look at the history, high school guys were more reliable picks than college
kids.

Been saying this for the longest. For the most part, players who are "ready" for the NBA, or who are legit NBA prospects / on NBA radar, college does not do anything for these players. They are already as NBA ready as they will be until they actually get into the NBA. Hell, that's the reason why they are being looked at for the NBA in the first place. The prime example of this to me is the 07 high school draft class. That high school draft class was as NBA ready as they were going to be. Also, what people fail to account for when they say "College prepares players for the NBA" is that the NBA is just that...NBA. You will never be able to simulate it. Therefore, I would argue that players are just as equipped for the NBA coming out of high school as they are 2 years out of college on the basis of neither have experience in the NBA.

They want 2 years minimum IMO because 1) all the points you listed above. and 2) it works out for College Bball because they would end up with 2 years of superstars instead of one leading to obviously more revenue.

The staying in college for two year rule isn't for those "student-athletes." In most cases, those guys aren't actual NBA prospects and are at college to get a degree. This rule is for players who essentially are NBA ready out of high school, those who have legit aspirations of getting drafted either out of high school, or one year removed from high school.

If a player wants to go pro after HS why can't he?

If a team wants to risk taking an 18 year why can't they?

Just cause you enter the draft outta HS doesn't guarantee you will even get picked, and it's not like teams are forced to take those players.
