The only problem with this is....He still puts up 22 and 11 every night. And he's been on a tear this season especially. Soooooo...really, his "terrible footwork" can't be that much of a hinderance if he's still putting up elite numbers.
It matters when you become first option and the team depends on you. If you play in the post and you can't reliably score in a half court set and you're #1 option, THAT IS A PROBLEM.

That said I hope he proves me wrong, if anything it'll be up to Doc to get wins though honestly.

I see a point in discrediting Love because he has never played in the playoffs. At some point int he game, he falters. If you finish with 40/20, but only 4 of those pts in the last 6 minutes, at some point I am not entertained. Just like the previous Kevin
I guess, although he did miss last season due to injury. If they don't make it this year I'll hear that criticism but as it is, I don't think it's difficult to recognize the caliber of player Love is despite never being in the playoffs in his 5 year career.

See, here's the thing. He's already proved you wrong. He's the number one scoring option for LAC and does it in a fairly efficient manner. He's already an elite passer for position so playing through him isn't a problem. How can he not be a reliable scorer in the half court if he's almost 23 points a game? You think all of those points come from CP and fast breaks? His usage rate, percentage of points via iso's and half court sets, and his improved free throw percetage says otherwise.

He has a heavier load with CP off but I don't expect him to trail off, if at all. He'll have to create more for himself with CP gone, but he's been fantastic at doing that this year. It'll fall more on Blake than Doc and Blake should do well with this expanded role.

I don't see it and I doubt it but it'd be cool if he proved me wrong for the Clippers sake.

Curious, why don't you see it? Not coming at you or anything, I legit want to hear why you don't see it.

I've watched Blake Griffin play a lot on both sides of the court and I've watched other power forwards in the league a good amount. I do not think he's the best 4 in the league and I doubt that with CP3 out Blake will take this opportunity to further this next step you claim he's already making. I just don't see it but from here on out we'll see if he has leadership capabilities with CP3 out and if he can really take that next step as a 4.

Along with more passion and increased bball iq I already mentioned for him to be worthy of that title I'd also like to see him have more confidence and see less of the antics when it comes to flopping, the refs, and being much more dedicated on defense.

Aiight. Let's hope the Clips get some Ws then

cant really blame love in that 40/20 game when they would just double team him in the final 6 minutes and literally no one else on the team could do anything (except for a little bit of pek). lma has lillard and all his shooters and blake has cp3 and all his shooters, if teams throw multiple defenders at them their teammates will make plays. the difference in +/- when love is on and off the floor is staggering

If Kevin Love continues to make all those threes he can take as many as he wants

Then what were you doing? I think Paul is the best point guard in the world no doubt, I watch almost every Clipper game. Nobody ever said Paul doesn't help Blake, come on now. The point you were trying to make was downplaying Blake for sure. If Blake played with Rubio on the Wolves he'd look exactly the same, perhaps even average more points being the first option on the Wolves.

Dog, I just sang Blake's praises on the last page, what are you even saying?

Losing the best player on your team specifically a PG is going to hinder the team especially the big men. Shoeking just said Paul doesn't really help Blake and that's BS, just calling it as I see it.

At this point, Perkins should just refuse to check into the game and formally hold a press conference officially handing over his starting position to Adams or Collison. "Coach, put Adams in. I'm terrible." (just as I type this Adams makes an amazing putback)

I think y'all underestimate just how much Paul does for Blake

glad someone realizes it

had i said something i would be called a troll.

had i been the only one that said the Melo trade helps the Clips, i would have been called a troll

Zyzz cant wint. glad others share the same opinions as myself

god bless

why are heat wearing their home jerseys?

Orlando wanted to wear their throwback pinstripe jerseys tonight and per NBA rules, you can't go "dark and dark" with jerseys so some team had to go white.
is that really a nba rule? what about when the hawks wore red and knicks wore orange?

not an nba rule anymore, its been broken many times every season the last few years.

just last week Blazers and OKC. havent paid attention to any other games but its been done A LOT every season and no not counting holiday games.

My bad, I only read the comment I quoted. Still though, all I'm saying is that Blake would be fine with even a slightly above average point guard. Say like Rubio. Sure Paul creates a bunch of looks for Blake, but Blake isn't ultra dependent on Paul or anything like that. He would look really similar to who he is now with the average pick and roll point guard.

You said the "stats don't support that Paul helps Blake" like really?

Adams should have all of Perkins minutes, Brooks is beyond trolling at this point

Nah, All I essentially said was that the narrative that CP helps Blake is greatly exaggerated and statistics support that, which is true.

Spurs going in on the Clippers 37 in the first quarter. Yikes. It's pretty much iso ball on the Clippers right now. Ugly ugly basketball. Crawford's last shot attempt makes JR Smith look tame.

Spurs coming off a bad home loss is basically the worst team the Clips could have faced in this first game without CP.
