I've heard the same arguments against melo as I did againt pul pierce. They are really really dumb. Give him Garnett and Allen and a good coach and he would win a ring too. Give him shaq in his prime or a super friends team he wins a chip.
Don't think it's that easy to say they'd for sure still win titles. Seems like a simplistic mindset to be honest.

What about the NBA has changed since the 2005 Pistons that would prevent the Pacers from winning a chip?

I swear its as if the average fan doesn't even know what defense is. :smh:

Purely defensive is so ambiguous

I actually completely disagree. I think that team is perfectly built for Melo. Completely surrounded by defenders, rebounders, and a couple of shooters off the bench.

I dont think a PURELY defensive team can win it all. Not today at least.

That's fine if you disagree with that, but tell me, how exactly can you explain how George being a #1 option will never win a title? Again, the Pacers have just as good of odds as any team in the league to win this year. George is their #1 option.

Also, explain what you mean by purely defensive. Do you mean the Pacers?

Great offense will always beat great defense. The Pacers are amazing defensively, but in no way will they stop a Westbrook and Durant, a Lebron/Wade/Bosh, even the GSW if they're on fire for 7 games.

They need another go 2 option. Once you key in on PG for 7 games, I cant see anyone else helping him out with a consistent 20+ a game for 4-7 games.

To me this team is VERY SIMILAR to that 2011 ECF Bulls team.

Most amount of talent wins 90% of the time in the NBA

Saying he wins a ring with prime shaq and Phil is a simple mindset because it's obvious.

if lebron didn't join a super team people would still call him a loser. If Garnett Allen and pierce didn't join up they would all be considered losers. Which they were in case everyone forgot. Frankly I'm shocked that Cp3 isn't considered more of a loser I thnk it's cuz he's short.

Name me one current player in the nba that would win a chip with this piece of **** Knicks team if he replaced melo.

at the disrespect

I'll just go ahead and wait for the Pacers to prove themselves

Prove what? All they need to do is beat 2 teams. The Heat and whoever they face in the Finals. Which i personally dont think they'll do.

Are they capable? Sure. But it wont happen imo.

Nobody would win with this Knicks team, but that's not why I'm down on Anthony. The way he plays and the way he operates don't exactly ring championship. The talent is there no doubt. With Phil Jackson or perhaps a Doc Rivers I'd have more faith but still, to say he'd for sure win titles with those teams is not really obvious in my opinion. There are many other factors that go into winning a title outside of talent.

Prove that they can win a title or at least prove they belong with the likes of Miami and OKC/the Spurs. As if they haven't already proved that much

Yes purely defensive ( Bulls / Memphis ) can't.

But Pacers have scoring.

Those other teams once you get past 80 points there's a good chance your gonna beat them.
do they? How often do they score over 100?

Pacers definitely have a more complete team than the Thunder. I don't see why they couldn't win that matchup.

Great offense will always beat great defense in the playoffs. 99/100 times. Not much to explain here.

In the playoffs? Historically I'd like to see where each title team ranked defensively. Why are you being so black and white anyway? It's fully possible to be exceptional on both ends of the floor. BTW, tell me how it worked out for the Suns, and I don't think the Pistons were the only exception to your 99/100 times theory.
