KD is a superstar but I can't put him in the same class as Lebron and Kobe until he does what they've done in this league.

Okay, I see what you're saying, but that only applies because they have multiple rings. Because that's the only way anybody can convince me that saying that Tim Duncan is a superstar, yet Durant isn't, isn't asinine.

KD is a superstar and 2nd best player today but you guys are missing the context. Barkley, Malone and Stockton were also superstars but we don't put them in Kobe or MJs class. Point is KD at the end won't be in that top tier unless he wins a ring. He's so young though and so much time is left this convo is premature.

He was a superstar. I'm talking post career. KD if he never wins will be equivalent to Dan Marino. Example being Marino may be a better QB than Brady on pure skill and ability but the rings put Brady on a level Marino isn't on, regardless of his play. Allan Iverson is another prime example.

3. Blaming the loss on any one thing always weird to me. If Portland hadn't of fouled Dwight he wouldn't have the chance to make said free throws that could have won him the game so, they lost because Portland is better, the end.

Allen Iverson literally put his team on and could have won the title if the Lakers were worse than his team. Dan Marino would have won if his team helped him out at the Super Bowl. Your point only proves that even great players or superstars need help from their team regardless of their individual talent. If Jordan never had Pippen, he probably would have never won a championship. He would be considered "not in your ultra superstar" tier then.

No he wouldn't. If Jordan never won any titles he wouldn't be JORDAN. We all know these are teams sports but lets not act like we don't compare individual players ALL THE TIME. Every sports convo can end in the team sport argument. We give individuals credit for greatness when they win but it's on the team when they lose though? If they accept the credit for winning they need to own the loses too, right or wrong.
