What's Asik's value right now?

It's hard to say. People thought Gortat was really great, but just in Dwight's shadow. He's been great since he left Orlando.

But Gortat is more offensively capable than Asik is, yet Asik is better defensively.

Are Asik and Gortat both guys who are Top 10 Centers right now? Probably, yeah.

But you don't want to overpay your Center unless he's truly elite.

Brook Lopez, Tyson Chandler, Roy Hibbert, Andre Drummond, Gortat, DeAndre, Asik, Gortat; those guys are all really good centers, but they are not Joakim Noah, Marc Gasol, or Dwight Howard.

I would've included Roy Hibbert in that group, but his meteoric rise is rivaled by his meteoric fall.

said it when i looked up hibberts contract at the start of the season

not worth the money to overpay for a one way defensive player

someone will overpay for asik though

80's flop vs 2014 flop

:LOL the hyperbole in this thread is amazing

Weren't people crowning Paul George as the next great thing last year in the playoffs until LeBron abused him?

Harden is a number one option and has been all year. He's not playing well, and I don't know what's wrong with him. A lot of this falls on McHale too though.
It's pretty that clear the HE IS the #1 option.
IMO it's also clear that he shouldn't be.
Yes.

Annnd yes.

It's so simple.

I just looked it up and surprisingly the #1 team defensively against opposing PFs...

Knicks
Indiana
Toronto
Bulls
Wizards

Bottom 5......

Lakers
Philly
Denver
Houston
NO

so if we sign melo and let pau walk we would go from the worst defending pf in the league to the best

The problem w/ Thibs is that he can be "overly defensive"... if that makes sense.

Pringles opposite.

Too much focus on one side of the ball when you need both.
pretty much, been saying in the lakers thread that thibs is the exact opposite of dantoni

would take dantoni over thibs any day though
trollin iz real
srs, if im going to have my team not win a championship every year i would rather have an entertaining product to look at

thibs is the most overrated coach in the league

 if you say so sea...

I understand wanting to upgrade the PF position on the surface, but Terrence Jones has been pretty good this season.

He's just ran up on against the worst possible match up for him.

LMA is absolutely torching everyone right now and would be torching anyone guarding him.
Pretty much.

Though having a taller/longer PF to challenge shots wouldn't hurt.

enjoy watching your team struggle to get 80 points per game while getting knocked out of the first round to lesser teams every year

coty :pimp:

& the bulls have been knocked out the 1st round when again? oh yeah against boston when boston was the better team...right

the wiz aint in the 2nd round off 2 w's fam..... you were saying?
