Someone aware me on this Braxton story

I remember this when I was a kid back in the 90's. I haven't heard about this in a LONG time

Basically, Toni Braxton was supposed to go out with Jason Kidd one night when the Mavericks were in Atlanta, but Braxton ended up going out with Jimmy Jackson instead. Jason Kidd got stood up.

Both Jimmy Jackson and Jason Kidd denied this ever happened, and Jason Kidd went as far as to say that he's never met Toni Braxton ever in his life when asked about the situation. Toni Braxton on the other hand said something like "shes not the type to kiss and tell"

From watching over 20 years of basketball in the NBA--Usually stories like this are true 90% of the time. Even if it wasn't true, that Dallas Mavericks team was very young and they didn't know how to handle a situation like that.

Damn shame too, because I remember "The Three J's" being the goods.

That Toni Braxton story is true. They were on the rise prior to that, then it went south. All three J's started beefing then they broke them up. Makes sense, NBA players stay passing around chicks. It's so dumb.

They can't force Sterling to sell, but they can make it so that he doesn't want to own the team anymore. I see them banning him from all team functions for at least a year. That fine means absolutely zero to him.

I think Mark Jackson is a good coach, people might disagree. Whatever. There is clearly some form of sabotage going on there.

My dad was telling me back then that usually if there's a girl involved--the story is true. I don't really remember how Jamal Mashburn was involved in that love triangle though. I only remember Kidd and Jackson being involved. The Mav's ended up trading Kidd and then Jackson 2 months after.

It's crazy how NBA players still do "pass around" girls. You'd think they'd be smart enough not to do that.

I don't agree with forcing an owner out, because that can lead to other things. Once you force 1 owner out of ownership, than you're basically creating a culture where you can force an owner out for something else. As much of an idiot Sterling is, he owns the Clippers and he has every right to do whatever he wants with the team. You cannot force him out of ownership.

It's his team. Point. Blank. Period.

If Sterling isn't forced out then the Clippers will become the NBAs version on the Washington Generals and eventually fold. Either way Sterling won't be around much longer.

I think Mashburn got in it because he was just mad about the team play. At the time he was the teams best player and he was upset about the way things were going in their offesne. I definitely remember all three of them being upset and something was wrong but they were denying stuff. Maybe I overstated the passing around chicks. I should clarify that it seems like they tend to have the same circle of females around and wreckless eyeballing seems to be going around. Like Shaq and Gilbert sharing an ex. Weird world man.

Women are just straight up evil. I think that's the moral of the story here.

RIP Donald Sterling's image & 90's Mav's team

I fail to see him being forced to sell and earn about 700 million dollars as a punishment. Him being forced out "eventually" doesn't mean much either because as shown, his players will play anyway.

It's really a new situation.

Nah man, it's done. Ain't no coming back from whatever is wrong with that team. Their body language says it all. If you think it's bad now, if they advance, it's only going to get worse.
Agreed the body language that the Pacers are showing is the look of defeat already, Hawks need to put them to bed playing in Atlanta next game.

His players HAVE to play. Don't give me that nonsense of them having the option of playing or not. They don't play--they don't make any money. 85% of the league lives paycheck to paycheck. Some of you guys really think players will go without a paycheck? I don't think so. Just look at what happened with the lockout last time. The Player Union tried to be strong and hold out, but how long can you go without money?

I do think the situation in LA is bad and thing will be shaken up. If I was Sterling, I would send out my PR team to do damage control and start the process of rehabilitating my image. Ain't no way I'd sell.

It's L.A. and people will want to play there.

^ You really think sending a PR team out on Sterling's behalf is gonna help? Please listen to what Bomani Jones said about this fool. It's way deeper than that man.

LOL I remeber that...most definitely true. That team was too good to just be broken up like that if there weren't "internal issues"

I tell you...the yambs do it everytime
