THIS. I'm not sure where we rank in the paint but I'm sure it's in the bottom half. We rely on the perimeter and mid - range so much it's kinda disgusting. Once they stop hitting and players start getting cold it's gonna show our lack of willingness to drive to the paint or play with our back to the basket.
The impressive thing about this year is there's some consistency with our starting 5. They pass the ball better finding the open man and take better shots. The interior defense has been upgraded with Lopez since we could never rely on LaMarcus to be that type of player who bangs down low.
I'm impressed so far, but I know once the jump shots and threes stop hitting the team will go back to reality. It gives Portland fans the hope that we can actually contend in the West though. Well we got another big game against OKC coming up.
