ill be shocked if they kept him on as an assistant coach but it would make sense to do that so he can actually learn and earn the job like others in the league had to.

A lot of legends are dumb as hell. I have the utmost respect for Patrick Ewing as a former player, but what the hell is he doing on the Bobcats bench? It's not even worth it as a PR move for the simple fact that you're setting the team up for failure. Imagine if Doc Rivers and all of his assistants got sick and Tyronn Lue had to be the interim coach?

One of the first requirements for any job posting is X years of relevant experience. Playing basketball is not a relevant experience in my mind, because it's night and day different from coaching. It's like going from bank teller to CEO. So yeah, he should have worked his way up, but he has such a big ego that he thinks that he's above it.

Jason Kidd got too much head to be stupid. He can be a good coach, but in this case it's too much too soon. Because of his inexperience he needs a bad team (even though they are bad, the Nets talent wise are better than their record) to play around strategically and get his feet wet as coach. I like Hollins for this group. If it ever happens, it will be like night and day.

I'd blame the front office and ownership for the Kidd hire not Kidd.
IMO Kidd should've never been hired in the first place. Not saying he can't be a good coach one day, but he was just playing last year and had ZERO coaching experience.
