I think Josh Smith was always overrated tbh. 15 & 7 career average. 

As a 4, he doesn't hold a candle to Aldridge, Love, Nowitzki, Anthony Davis is already better than him, etc. 

As a 3, there's a decent number of players that are better than him.

the guy is an idiot. this team is way too talent to be at the bottom of the league. Im not putting all the blame on Smith but hes take a big part of it. Hes thinks hes a shooter and a good one at that when hes not even close. Hes taking away shots from his teammates who can shoot. Hes giving away possessions with stupid shots and unforced turnovers.

Hes a cancer to this team

I think Monroe and Drummond are the 4 and 5. Even if he wasn't a 3 on paper, just the fact that he shares space with those 2 guys on the floor forces him to be a wing player.

Josh smith is a terrible shooter that takes a lot of bad shots.

But he's a good rebounder, playmaker and defender. Well at least he was in ATL.

David Lee's ineptitude as a defender is overstated honestly. He's gotten so much better in the last two years but the label of being a poor defender just will never leave him.

That being said dude looks dead tired, there was a point in the third where they posted him three straight times and the layups he put up were just flat out lazy.

Josh Smith a waste of talent by having terrible shot selection/IQ at times

He could be scoring an efficient 20 getting 9 boards and 4-5 assists and 2 steals and blocks. It doesn't even make sense why he thinks he can shoot, he's been a terrible shooter for years and still doesn't get it.
