TMacs prime lasted as long as middle school if not shorter. He's out the picture

basically. i rock with evaluating players at their peak, but not literally like a very minute sample size man.

has to at least be a solid period over the course of a few seasons combined with a solid career even if the peak had a harder fall off.

tmac gets 0 looks in best ever conversations, just the "could have been"

he had at least 7 very solid yrs and during that time he put up some impressive numbers. that's more than a lot of players.

I respect this and agree with you... but we are comparing him relative to other GREAT players. The best SG's of all time. "More than a lot of players" isn't enough in this case.

OKB isn't being ridiculous in how he views players and his rankings... and right now, sea manup is just exaggerating. You might not agree with his criteria, but it's fair.

I value longevity in discussing overall careers, but it's less important when discussing who is the better player in their primes. I might consider it more of a tiebreaker than a crucial point to consider.

OKB's other point about narratives is completely true, though.

were comparing him to SG? i always thought he was a SF

"Great" is hard to define. is that a top 50? 100? best player in his era? top 10?

I'd take MKG in a heartbeat packaged for Turner. Sure, he's a bust. Can't score, has virtually no offensive moves. But he defends, rebounds, and hustles. Young, build for the future.

MCW - LaVine - MKG - Noel - Embiid.

I would probably be down for Turner for MKG and one of the 1st rounders they own.

so lets take this a step further, because screw looking at players careers as a whole its better to pick and choose what defines a player.

Looking at kobes best two games he scored 81 points and 63 in three quarters. From this unbiased analysis (because I only care about players when they are at their best) I have come to the conclusion that kobe is better than jordan and arguably the greatest player of all time. Do I care that he only scored 30 the game after 81? Hell no I dont care about longevity.

Let me only look at the south and give you a proper analysis of the quality of american education.

Let me only look at Quebec and tell you the crime rates of canada as a whole

I have two people interviewing for a manager position at my coffee shop, they both seem to be great leaders but one can only work here for half a year while the other is willing to sign a two year contract. Im going to ignore that last part and flip a coin because longevity is pointless to me.

you are being obtuse, obviously within reason.

we have 4 of 5 great dwade seasons that is a enough for me.

we have 4 or 5 great T-mac seasons, we know what they were and we know they could sustain as long as they weren't hurt.

we don't have for say, Brandon Roy, who in 09, might be as good as any Drexler season, but I'm not going to say he's better than drexler.

Is Kevin Willis better than Bill Walton?

there is a line to everything.

Not sure how you can't consider Lebron one of the Goats in the game.

Many of you duds consider Mike / Kobe goats.

Why not Lebron?

more willing passer / better defender and just a good of a scorer if not better than those other 2.

*shrug*

Not when you chase championships there's a difference between MJ Kobe then Lebron!

Man I hope this Cavs n kings gm turns out good

Struggle basketball.

Gonna be like watching games at LA Fitness.

 Chillllllll

Not trying to take shots, but when I look at their respective rosters, even taking injuries into account, it's hard for me to believe the Kings have a worse record than the Lakers.

for him to say he is top 4, who is he taking out?

jordan? probably not
russell?
kareem?
magic?
bird?
wilt?

its just a bad look for him to say he is better than so and so even if its debatable

imo, of course

^got a solid point. if lebron had won it in cleveland, i think people will look at him differently. whether it is right or wrong, him switching teams makes a difference on how we view him. kareem switched teams but he also won in milwaukee.

im not even a kobe fan, but i still have him over lebron but they both are ahead of magic/bird

jordan, russell, kareem, kobe, oscar? wilt?

with that said, lebron is an all-time great

I mean if y'all are gonna throw in guess you lasted 4-5 years then was out lets just make the window smaller. Whoever had the best single game should be in :smh:

Whether I agree with him or not, I'm fine with LeBron promoting himself (except the dunk contest nonsense). Hopefully it just gives guys like KD motivation to try and take his crown.

Wanna watch the kings for DMC but idk if I can watch irving dribble the clock out every possession trying to cross someone.

I think Bass would be a perfect back-up big for the Clippers. Too bad I don't think they have anything to offer for him that Boston would want.
Clippers and Celtics can't make any more trades until this season is over. IIRC that was part of the Doc Rivers arrangement after David Stern blocked the first deal with KG involved.

EDIT: I worded that wrong. They can't trade with each other until the season is over, obviously not banned from making any trades.
