look, all i'm saying is the guy who "has no post game" and "needs CP3 to score" is averaging 34 and 9 in his last 5...on 70% shooting.

edit:

i accidentally included the ASG :smh:

excluding that, he's still around 32/10 on 60%

@Nelson999. You know the narrative of Blake has been an absolute roller coaster. Very few people on this board were sticking g up for him up until January.

You had guys saying he was the most overrated player in the L, and people having the the stupidest perception that he sacked because he dunked too much and had commercials, and could not score without CP3. Now those people are coming around, and finally realizing his talent... The hate came before all of this.

uhhhhh might wanna crunch those numbers one more time bro

My bad. February. and it's 34ppg, but you get what i mean. People been calling KD a favorite for MVP with his play, and if Blake is scoring at a similar pace, he at least deserves some praise. Is he suddenly a GOAT? hell no, but the guy deserves respect.

i understand that. He has dramatically improved his game this season, and his stretch over the last couple weeks has been outstanding. My point though, is that if someone who knows nothing about the NBA came and read this thread on a night when Blake Griffin is playing, they would probably leave here with the idea that Blake Griffin is the best basketball player in the world.  Which is probably the kind of thing that leads to most of the anti-Blake comments on here.

Exactly. The "hate" has nothing to do with the run he's on now.

if al jefferson was doing the same thing hes doing right now on the knicks or nets he would be an allstar and "the next big thing"

easily

dude been underrated for a long time because hes been playing for losing teams. guy is a monster in the post, his footwork and everything :x

the CP3 thing was funny to me. His career high in ppg before this year was 22, and that was during his rookie year without Paul.

Since then, he's improved his jumper and his game on the block.

So expecting him to fall off a cliff without Paul was comical.

It reminded me of when people say Amare needed Nash after stat signed with NYK. Like he wasn't averaging 20 before Nash arrived

Anyway, good game Spurs fans (Antidope). Only Blake and Crawford (and I guess DJ) really showed up for us tonight. I expected CP to struggle out of the break, but he was even worse tonight than I thought he would be. We're not going to beat a team as well coached as the Spurs with him looking like just an average player. Oh well. A major missed opportunity, but $&@" happens.

Yoooo, let Blake Griffin be great.

He's basically playing up to the standards and numbers he set during his rookie campaign.... minus those boards, he's been weak in that area this year.

when you have hardcore fan boys AND a bunch of haters it means you have made it big in the nba

No. He's properly rated. He is one of the worst defenders at his position and he can't use his left hand at all whatsoever. He doesn't play winning basketball, and if he was on a winning team making playoff runs he would underperform because playoff defenses would eat him up.

It ain't Blake fault that he's marketable, plays above the rim and happened to be drafted in LA.

I will say Al Jefe def should have been an All Star though, and how he was completely overlooked was absolutely criminal. Similar to Josh Smith in 2011. I agree with the above post, but Jefe's offensive game is def appreciated.

One of the best low post scorers in the game. That right push/hook is amazing.

LeBron goes out in ONE game and puts up basically the numbers KD been putting up for over a month, and all of a sudden he's about to take the MVP back?

Well all-star reserves are generally reserved for winning teams and HOFers that aren't popular. And with guys like Chris Paul coming off the bench this year there was just no way. If he was in the East he probably could have bumped Millsap (his former teammate haha)

modern day shareef abdur rahim. solid player on really bad teams

This Bron vs KD MVP discussion is tired as s***. We both no they're going to play great, efficient ball and lead their respective teams to a ton of victories. It's February. Lets wait at least til March to truly examine this.

It's game by game for you dudes. Yall act like its Football out here lol.

You do know the Bobcats are in the East, and thats who Al Jefe plays for now right?

i thought Bron scored 100 points with all this breaking news and coverage on ESPN while i was at the gym... SMDH

Not to take anything from Blake because i think he has improved his game tremendously, but.....

I get a feeling that a lot of the Blake "Hate" is derived from people seeing everyone in here putting Blake on a god-like level that he doesn't live up too.

Example? look at the Pro-Blake comments on the last page or so, based off those comments you would think Blake was putting up GOAT numbers out there. But in reality he's putting up numbers plenty of players put up on any given night (see Al Jefferson box score tonight) and losing to a Spurs team with 3 starters out and a half healthy Ginobili

Blake is leading the league in scoring in February and averaging 34/11 for the month. Lead the Clippers to a better winning % without CP3 than with him....but you're right., plenty of guys in the league are doing the same thing.

What a terrible loss :smh:
