I thought this was going to be one of the best NBA seasons ever and it stinks. CBB is just light years ahead in entertainment value this season.
nah, its really only the east and east coast basketball has always been boring to watch

the west is great this year

(as always)

Knicks/Nets game is going to be highly entertaining... Amare v KG, Pierce v Melo... Jet and JR matchup... someone is going to get smacked and the lulz will ensue

KG all day!! everyday!!
His game game was more well rounded and he made everyone around him better...can't say the same for Dirk.

Dirk absolutely made his teammates better. You see that janky squad he won with? Or him getting all-stars for the Josh Howards of the world?

KG had a more complete game as an elite defender, but also was never close to the offensive phenom that Dirk was.

does anyone really care if prokh is calling out the knicks?

calling out a team with three wins. 3 wins. what's that about? how important or relevant is that really?

he's just trying to sell tix for tomorrow at barclays

I think you have to consider putting Dirk over Kobe actually in terms of offensive skill. He did it without ever making mistakes of selfishness or becoming a volume scorer.

Now LeBron, has a very special set of gifts. That's tough.

Dirk literally carried his team far pretty much every year with crap talent as well while KG struggled to make the playoffs and was 1st round and out every year. If the league didn't call '06 a certain way, Dirk would have two rings and two finals MVP's and this wouldn't be an argument.

I think you make a good point, agree with all you said.

Then again, KG's defensive impact on the Celtics was pretty special.

Id take KG too KG was good offensively while being elite defensively, you can only like a player for playing one side of the ball so much

Lebron when its all said and done might be the best ever, but strictly from a offensive standpoint? I'd have to disagree there.

Dirk:

Consistency....check
3 pt shot.......check
mid range.....check
off the dribble....check
within the offense....check
fadeaway...check
clutchness/winning factor...check

And Dirk played within the offense, was a great leader, and made his teammates significantly better,

Those things took him beyond his skillset to the HOF level he's at.

He also was a very good rebounder and stopped being a bad defender after Nash left.

What makes the Cavs last two picks so bad is just the fact that they paired a ball dominant SG with a ball dominant PG. They could've had a guy that actually would've wokred well next to Kyrie in Oladipo. He didn't need the ball to be effective and had the potential to be an elite defender.

Hindsight is 20/20 and they may or may not have got the no.1 pick this year if they drafted Barnes the year before. No one will never know, but it would've been a good start to at least draft a player that actually made sense.
