Monroe for Porter.
nerd.gif

I really think it's gonna happen. Makes too much sense.
That it does. Slide Smith to the 4, and thats lineup Nirvana. They cant ask for more. Whats going on with that hip thing though :nerd:

Thats crazy, Otto Porter got that bust smell, wafting around him.

Detroit considering that until he proves he's recovered from the hip problem and that he can play.

Wait, a 16 and 10 Greg Monroe for an unproven rookie?

Aren't all rookies unproven? He was the #3 pick for a reason. Monroe is not going to be resigned...Wizards can give him the max deal he wants. On top of it all, they can send back the expirings of either Okafor/Ariza to sweeten the deal.

*I would love for Tony Mitchell to be included in that package if it happens.

All of this.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly absent minded...

Chris Paul been the best PG in the NBA since Nash fell off. Deron was like 1.B in his last years in Utah.

Stop the chatter. Miami has no threats. It's a three peat.

Melo isn't a top 10 player today?! The hate is strong

He literally destroys teams night in and out with the most skilled offensive game in the world. (Only rivaling Kobe's skillset.)

All those GM surveys are bias to their own squads.

OKC with a healthy Russell and Kevin is a Finals bound team. Without James Harden or Kevin Martin, they will not win a championship. Reggie Jackson is kinda nice but he's not putting up 17-25 off the bench in the post season. Jeremy Lamb is not ready to shine. He's shook and came into the league as a knockdown shooter who can create his own space and has shown he can't do either.

Sam Presti wasn't going to give Harden $80 million dollars and then turn around and offer Russell, Serge and Kevin what?! It's a damn business people. Presti ain't no dummy. Harden is just a greedy dude who wanted to cash out in and during his prime. More power to the Black man.

Or maybe Harden was just tired of being the third fiddle? You can't blame a dude for being competitive and wanting a championship as the "franchise player". No one can argue that Harden can't be a first option after leaving OKC, the question is how far can he take Houston and Dwight?

so was Darius Miles, Mike Dunleavy, Adam Morrison, Ben Gordon, ect.  Either way, Monroe is an OUTSTANDING center in this league, and trading him for someone with bust potential seems like a quick way to get Dumars fired

#3 in a weak draft is already over is meaningless, he's a dude with a hip injury who looked like he didn't belong in summer league.

What is the old addage about SL? You can't tell who CAN play but you can tell who CAN'T play.

Its early but Otto, def got some warning signs on him that absolutely wouldn't work in a trade for a guy who in his second year was looking very Pau Gasol-y

I'd like to see how he does in regular season NBA action before writing him off. Wizards can also throw a guy like Seraphin in the mix and/or a 1st round pick in the near future. That deal would not get Dumars fired considering that they have to trade the guy. I'm not sure what Batum's contract is, but how would the Pistons afford him when they can't afford to pay Monroe? You have to think about salaries as well.

Sooooo....... Which teams will intentional tank this season in hopes of picking up a big name is next years loaded draft?

IMO....... Drum role........

Lakers

not wanting to pay Monroe is different from they can't, he regressed last year.

If he is back to his normal efficiency this year, Detroit will either keep him or get a way bigger return than Otto Porter.

I wanna feel bad for Scott Brooks, then I remember all the facts and the stats which I know he has seen but chooses to ignore for some reason.

lol exactly.

Remember the finals this year? Poppovich and Spolestra, making a crazy amount of adjustments in game and game to game?

-Spolstra thawing out Mike Miller form the freezer,
- sitting Shane Battier giving no dambs about feelings?
-Then bringing shane back for game 7?
-Pop starting Manu after having him on the bench struggling, then Gary Neal?
-Ditching Tiago splitter,
- going to the extreme pack the paint strategy against the heat?

Remember all that?

What Scott Brooks do in the 2012 finals?

Besides attach a Kendrick Perkins sized anchor to his teams neck.

PS: and refuse to do anything to put James Harden in better positions to score, and letting miami blitz every pick and roll untill he was broken confidence wise.

Very good post

you're new to basketball huh?

What do they have going for them?? Hurt kobe? Down hill pau? In a team where Steve Blake is your go to guy for half a year in a loaded western confrence what could you possibly expect? High draft pick trade for...... Melo? Maybe even lebron??? Seems like a good idea

One bad season won't kill sales either. People go to the game regardless. The fan base is going nowhere. People already hate the owner and coach so just use them to deflect the hate.

i'm not a fan of Monroe at the 5

Bingo.

If Monroe never learns to shoot his ceiling drops considerably,

If he can shoot, you can play him at the 4 and your have gigantic PF, who can score and finish over 4's and best 5's off the dribble, facilitate from the elbows ala Pau Gasol in Memphis,

If he CAN'T shoot? Well you have to play him at the 5, where you have NO rim protection, and he will struggle to finish over bigger 5's, it will be tough to have a league average defense let alone a top 7 (what you need to win a chip)

About 30 million dollars is riding on whether or not Greg Monroe can shoot.

Young is still on the team......Paul needs to play up and Nash healthy I see playoffs. Role players play there role it will be a tough season but no tanking dude. Dont know where grab that idea from. Who is your team anyway.
