Official Air Jordan XX9 post! 1st two released 9/6/14! NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!

Still unappealing.
Maybe if I saw them in person but knowing JB they be super limited to drive sales and I'll never get the chance.

anyway, from the slow posting in this topic, the xx9 do not create much attention after the revealing.
The xx8 were much more in discussion due to its radical design.
somehow the xx9 are too generic with its plain upper.
None of my jordan collector friends are impressed by these so far. To me the kobe 9 elite remain my basketball shoe of the year 2014 so far.

yeah, despite the amazing tech, none of the cws have my interest yet.

don't like the font on the number 23 at all.

It depends on what he refers to the XX8.
Design wise, them is a radical love or hate shoe.
I personally hated it in the first week but the more
pics got revealed from different angles I fell in love
with them (same happened when the first pics of
the AJ 13 and 20 leaked).
performance-wise, the XX8 are very good.
The only things I dislike were:
1. low durability with the frequent ZOOM AIR unit popping
and outsole damage
2. the retail price

The shape of the XX9 look fine to me. But the upper design lacks in inspiration.
I mean.....a oversized JUMPMAN and oversized 23?
The elephant print pair reminds me much of the XIV, XXIII somehow.

I would like to have that giant 23 replaced by a Jumpman.
On the side where the oversized Jumpman is I would like to have a small 23
like on the AJ V.
then JORDAN at the heel.
While the camo designs of most XX8 were too much for my taste,
the colorways of the XX9 so far are a bit too decent XD
 
so i want these bad, i havent wanted a new released jordan so badly since the XX QS and i want the red/black and the white/blue pair, that retail price is buggin me though and might keep me away from them unless i can find them at an outlet or on sale. Price of basketball shoes is stupid now, no way this lighter/cheaper material warrants this increase
 
I think the black pair is ok...but the shoe in general just seems to bland and generic to be considered the flagship model for JB :smh:

These just remind me of a Team JB shoe...something that Vin Baker and Juwan Howard would wear back in the day...

Hopefully these hit the outlets, cause that's the only way I can see myself getting a pair
 
$225 for these to hoop in? Which means they'll be beat in 4 months or less. I'm not sure. I hope they lower the price to what the xx8 SE sell for.
 
Don't own any shrouded xx8 but have multiple se's.. Don't ball in any of em just casual wear and they absolutely show wear if worn consistently.. The piece around the toe gets creases and depending on how tight you tie them they also loose that DS shape with the cheaper materials

I'm not sure if there will be an SE of the Jordan XX9.  No news has popped up regarding an SE version of the XX9.  I personally don't think an SE of the XX9 is needed.  I feel that the XX8s had an SE because many people wanted a conventional mid top cut of the shoe rather than having an 8-inch long shroud on the shoe.  Basketball players and casual wearers alike wanted a more "normal" shoe that you could just lace up and go rather than unzip, tie, fiddle with the shroud, and zip it back up.  However, for the XX9, the cut of the shoe is a mid top which I'm sure a sigh of relief to casual wearers and hoopers who do not like the unconventional look of a shoe like the XX8, and since the shoe is conventional for people, I don't think a special edition of the XX9 is necessary and should be made.  
 
^there will always be a cheaper version of the Air Jordans whether it be low top or SE.

:lol: I'm just saying it's not a given there will be a take down model. It's possible tho. The 2012 got the "lite" version which was a complete fail. The xx8 se was understandable. Not sure what they would do with the xx9.
 
Maybe we will get a low top version or a version with engineered mesh. The fabric used for the 29 is the rate limiting step and the supposed reason for limited quantities in the fall. The brand is so tight with all information, we will probably find out a week before the shoe has it's debut.

as far as I read from some posts, the initial release for the XX9 for both initial colorways (black/red-grey and black/dark orange)
were set for Sep 2014. However, it was also reported that the initial release is being postponed to Dec 2014.
Maybe due to re-engineering it?
Is that the reason Russel Westbrook did not wear them for several games and switched back to the XX8 SE in the playoffs?
I hope they solve any issues with the cushioning and stability.
If the woven tends to tear and wear out easily, midsole issue like zoom air unit popping etc. that would be absolutely not good.

the delay may also be production related? maybe they want to push more production out based on the feedbacks from the release party?

that would be my guess anyway. 

plus i think Westbrook is as superstitious as LeBron. watching Game 6 right now...he wore the blk/orange 29 in the first half 0-4fg...switch to the 28 in the second half now.

also few games back when he wore the home white 29, that was the same pair he wore earlier last round (saw the same exact writing he wrote on the shoe)
