Lupe Fiasco Drogas Waves out now - Who needs 7 tracks for a great album?

That **** sent me off tangent reading about MKUltra for a while yesterday

Album is tough, wished he turned it down a bit with the complex lyricism. The album would be more enjoyable IMO. Like verses like POOR DECISIONS were needed on here. Still dig it though.

The fact that he was able to get Buk from Pyschodrama on a record and Buk actually spit some ish. Very solid album from Lupe.

And here I was thinking I caught most of the references in Mural.

Love how he goes to one theme and then switches it up then comes back around to it again. This dudes brain is different.

Was messing with Lupe when he was doing Fahrenheit 1/15 and Touch The Sky mixtape (remember mixtapes? lol)

Swore by Food & Liquor cause I felt like his creativity was on A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL

The Cool was a very solid album albeit a bit long for me.

Lasers was ok, but a strong departure from the Lupe I felt I remembered

Food & Liquor 2 was momentum back to his older stuff for me.

But THIS ALBUM RIGHT HERE???

ABSOLUPE!!!

Mural,  Blur My Hands, Prisoner, Little Death, Deliver

Excellent Piece of work

And this vid misses literally 75% of the topics in the song  It covers a lot but to keep up with every single line you would have to pause after 2-3 bars to cap it for you

"Cherry picking every lemon from your berry system and proceed with the pack feeding"

Taking all of the sour/bad things out of the news and feeding it to the people. Letting them only hear what you want them too. Pack = Pac Pacman eats cherrys. Berry= Bury harkoning back to the line prior about the coffin. Again...one bar...ONE

All of the bird references to drug culture.

"Hundred words from these hummingbirds that like to eavesdrop"
"Fan out like peacocks with a parakeet that beatbox"

Then he revisits it "Lupe look at all these toucans"
The road runner references tying to drug runners and police chases....painting tunnels on the sides of mountains....police entrapment.

THERE IS SO MUCH IN ONE SONGGGGG

In order to really break down the song and references you'd end up with a 30+ minute video.

Every time I listen I hear something new.

i couldn't even imagine trying to break down everything he's talking about on mural... talk about a headache

such a great track though... easily one of my favorites from him in a while.

In the second or third verse of Adoration of the Magi when he runs through the yoga poses...i could swear that they spelled a work if you like drew them out and put them together. The line after is "now thats vulgar, no thats yoga". I was like hmmm maybe its a curse word.

Read that they are all poses of sexual implication. So its vulgar sex poses but its yoga....was dissappointed i was wrong...but i still haven't drawn them out yet

Forgot this damn cd was in the deck of my whip when it got totaled 2 weeks ago :smh:

So I went and copped another :smokin

better late than never
Actually I just remembered I bumped it once when it came out!

I had it downloaded and listened to it once but not thoroughly.

Knew it was dope... Wanted to listen through it a few times again but I just never did.

Went through it today... Man. Amazing
