most black people i have met outside of america/canada have been african rather than african american though

I have said before and in other posts and at much greater length, that the United States of America is fundamentally the best country on Earth. When folks like myself can take power, we can shake off our growing authoritarian tendencies and we can allow our demographic, geographic, cultural, economic and constitutional advantages to shine.
For the time being, however, I nominate Germany. The country weathered the 2008-2009 collapse better than any other major OECD country. Through thrift, self discipline and shrewdness, the German people are the bankers to Europe and parts of the World beyond Europe.
The people work far less hours than do Americans and they produce almost as much as we do, per capita. They have reduced their military strength and yet they are able to dominate Europe with the use of paper and contracts.

Our constitution was drafted for Americans; you can't cut in paste a word paragraph into a PDF and expect it to work the same.
Our constitution, at least on paper, is the most well crafted document the world has seen. We look at what we think it is and scorn it, but actually read the document, the phrasing, the subtle rhetoric, the philosophical undertones.
To bad it's been only treated as a document, opposed to the philosophical beliefs system it truly is.
