Ex- Jazz Ball Boy selling the REAL Flu Game XIIs

That's a dope ******g story.  :nthat:

But it wouldn't be a MJ story without Scumbag Mike making an appearance.  "There will be no autographs for ballboys after the game if I don't get my applesauce."   :smh:
I always die at this nickname, lol
I would keep them and pass down to my son( if I every have one)...
But I'll let him cook, hope its profitable

Lost some respect for Gary Payton. Asking for his opponent's sneakers during the finals?
??? soccer players exchange jerseys all the time. id ask for his sneaks and offer mines in exchange. maybe he was a sneakerhead also?

I wouldn't have passed on that kind of money at 19.. pretty crazy story.. interested to see how much they actually go for

Nice story.

Speaking of the flu game, Bill Simmons always speculates that it was a really bad hangover rather than flu. Knowing Jordan's partying ways it wouldn't be out of the question.

Simmons also seems to believe the theory that Jordan didn't retire in 1993, he was made to take time away from the league because of his gambling

They went for $104K in the end http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/stor...n-flu-game-shoes-shatter-record-price-auction

"The shoes Michael Jordan wore in his famous "Flu Game" sold for $104,765 early Thursday morning, shattering the record price paid for a pair of game-worn shoes in any sport.

Despite battling flu-like symptoms that nearly forced him to miss the game, Michael Jordan scored 38 points to rally Chicago past Utah in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals.

The shoes, brought to the market by Grey Flannel Auctions and consigned by former Utah Jazz ballboy Preston Truman, were worn by Jordan during Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals in which Jordan scored 38 points for the Chicago Bulls despite laboring up and down the court from feeling sick that day.

The identity of the winning bidder was not immediately made public, but the amount paid blew away the previous record paid for a pair of game-used shoes, which were also worn by Jordan. A collector paid $31,070 just last month for a pair of that Jordan wore in his rookie season.

Truman was able to secure the shoes, after developing a relationship with Jordan, which started when he says he one day fetched Jordan's traditional pregame applesauce during the 1996-97 season."

I wouldnt sell those, but it will be a shame if he doesnt get at least $200,000 for those shoes. Dudes out here paying that much for just off the line shoes, these are the real flu games.
U tartar sauce

Who paid 200banz for some shoes?

Bet dude don't get more than 23k for em

We've seen one baseball sell for millions, it's not farfetched to think that the flu games could get that much. I feel like I am understating their worth as a collectors item with just $200k

lol yeah right bro.

These ain't gon hit 20
