Black Friday is once a year and people act like savages. Now imagine if your life depended on you getting the items you need.

The EBT system screwed up and people legit emptied shelves for just their home. We have no concept of sharing or helping others here.

People can't farm, build, I know most of us can't build a fire or clean our own water. These are all skills we should have learned in school.

We don't have very many options at this point. Our entire system that we depend on is corrupted. We vote these people in after they lie and promise us happiness and prosperity. They're all bought out by these corporations we worship.

At this point it seems easier to just wait it out and see what happens. I do not see us banding together as a nation unless some really off the wall **** happens on our soil.

What kind of event do you think it will take, i mean theres an endless list of events and things that have been brought to the publics attention and nothing has changed.

It's different when you're just a regular US Senator compared to being the POTUS though. When Obama started receiving those daily Presidential security briefings and is presented with all these National Security issues/threats from the NSA, CIA, FBI, ATF, etc.. etc.. I mean what do you except the man to do? Well in 2008, I promise I wouldn't do this or that? :lol: Let's get real here though... Obama is nothing more than just another puppet for Corporate special interest groups and the US military industrial complex. I mean yah it be cool if Obama withdrew all our forces from Iraq/Afghan and lessen our military strength and presence worldwide but he doesn't want to be that one President that failed in securing our country. Bottom line, Obama is protecting his hood, the US, and if it means making secret pacts, killing US citizens abroad, torture, proxy wars, etc.. etc.. than so be it as long as the NBA, NFL and our daily American lives aren't interrupted. Yes I understand that's shallow however it is what it is.
 
Yeah everything now is simple things done in mass. Mass surveillance, mass militarization of the police, mass bleeding of our money.

Its not a big deal right now because it doesn't effect everyone yet. Once EVERYONE feels what's going on, we will see some changes. Might be uprisings. Might be domestic terrorism. Might be a civil war. Hell if they try to ban guns, thats going to be it right there.

People look at these other countries and what is going on with them and think it can't happen here. It can, will, and is. Its just moving at a snails pace because we're so comfortable. Its been a slow roll out in this country.

Thats the extreme i believe, but like you said it will be too late by then. But i also think that it doesn't even have to resort to something like that. I mean look at all the things that they have done and have been doing for lord knows how long. I don't know the full extent of the patriot act and all it covers but that was put into place, NSA spying on pretty much the entire country was being done way before snowden leaked that information out. We know about tourtures and all the crazyness that goes on in guantanamo bay. All the other crazy laws and bills that have been passed and are being discussed to be passed. Also if it weren't for the leaks from wiki leaks and Snowden people would have no clue and plans wouldn't change on their end at all.
 
Sleazyy i don't like to sound like a pessimist, but when you see the things happening with interactions with people now, for a recent example the kid that shot the other kid for his jacket here in nyc. And with the violence that exist amongst teens in chicago, and the countless of other things people fight over which are beyond comprehensible. And throwing on top of that gang mentalitys, racist, and just about every aspect that exist now for people to disagree upon from simple things like apple vs android, to other extremes. And then throwing on top all the sick people that exist, murderers, sociopaths, rapist ect. The list of things to not allow for coexistence just amongst people and then add that the government has weapons and technologys that we can't even begin to imagine exist. What are the odds of things changing.

I'd say the odds are still high, but its the fact that what comes after will be hell on earth that's the issue. The death and illness and crazy **** that would happen during and after a revolution, Americans are not about that life.

We're not ready for that. We're complacent with our technology and relatively easy lives. We're happy with the government helping us even though they **** up in many aspects.

Plus as you said the unity is just not there and as the old saying goes, "divide and conquer". They got us, and we watched it happen.

It most definitely is an extreme, but lets take a look at history. Every time the government wants to take away power from their people for whatever reason they go after two things. Your religion, and your guns. This leaves people defenseless. Religion in present day U.S is different than any country in history because of how we were set up in the beginning, but we aren't allowed to practice religion openly, many examples I can't recall off the top of my head. If they attempt to take our guns, I think that will be the last stand.

You think the Holocaust would have happened if the Jews had as many guns as Americans do today?

I see what you mean you got a point about the guns and the holocaust, i just look at our society now and the endless list of first world problems we have, and the ridiculous things we fight for now its beyond words. I mean you got people fighting over video games and being on line for sneakers. Imagine describing that to someone in our age range back in the 30's or 40's.

Being unified is damn near illegal anyways. Look at every major socio-political movement that wasn't Dem/Repub in the last 50 years. Leaders end up dead, police arrest people for peaceful protests...even people giving out food are getting hemmed up.

Meanwhile, we're told to just keep our heads down and focus on our family....and when they come for you and yours, that's exactly what everyone else is doing.

without a doubt. that superpower, whoever or whatever it is has already won. We as Americans need to learn to think for ourselves and be more intelligent. I don't believe intelligence is knowing a lot, it's just knowing how to think. We must question the moves our government makes and not believe everything they feed us. It is our right and duty as American citizens.

Can you guys imagine how much better this world would be if there were still people like Zapata, Pancho Villa, Che Guevarra, Subcomandante Marcos, etc. I know about Snowden and such, but it's still different.
 
You guys are a bit to pessimistic. The world isn't perfect but its better today than it was in any other point in human history and it will continue to get better. That's not to say that we as people shouldn't be out there making things better though...

I agree with the pessimistic part, somewhat. Not really sure if we're better off now than we were in the 50's. Same stuff, different point of history. Best of times, worst of times.

Is it really? Financially we're screwed. Students come out of college with more debt than they'd make in a year and that entry level job ain't cutting it. The wealth gap wasn't as big as it is today. Only thing I'd say we have better than the past is the internet/ technology and even that is under surveillance and was attempted to be censored (SOPA etc).
 
What is strange about this is that Snowden is still alive. Unless he is planned, It doesn't make sense. We fly ppl to the other side of the planet to put a bullet in a target over bananas. Why does this guy have more tricks up hi sleeves than dictators and billionaires on the run?
