And to anyone looking into buying bitcoins.. If you use coinbase, wait around till the end of the night. I've noticed the price of bitcoins drop a significant amount around 2-5 am. I think last night the low was around 890 per BTC.

How easy is it to sell your Bitcoins?

If what Drones stated is true I could essentially buy a bitcoin at night then flip it during the day for around 100 profit.

How do I transfer funds into my btc-e account are these sites such as okpay, egopay, etc. Legit safe sites to use to tranfer my funds?

I posted this in the other thread:

BTC dipped HARD today (like $400 hard) upon news that Baidu, which is Chinese Google, couldn't accept BTC as payment anymore. If you were ever planning on buying do it today.

damn, b just came in here to post this.

I really need to get in today..

@maldonado did you get in?

Anyone who's still listening, buy in on Quark for short term and Zetacoin long term.  Quark is experiencing stupid growth but is probably a pump and dump.  Zetacoin is seeing steadier, more sustainable gains.

where are all these coming from? quark?

the only ones that are long term and for real are BTC and LTC

seems like everyday 10 new coins are coming out of no where

where do you buy quark?
EDIT:  Stole this from another board.

How to buy Quarkcoins (QRK) in the US:

1) Go to http://bitcoin.org/ and download an offline bitcoin wallet. MultiBit is good wallet for beginners, but all 3 types offered on the site are fine, especially Armory for people that desire more security.

2) Buy bitcoins with USD at https://coinbase.com/ or if you would prefer something faster that doesn't require bank account verification you can buy from a trusted seller on https://localbitcoins.com/. Localbitcoins will most likely cost more than buying on Coinbase but you will get your bitcoins much faster.

2.5) If you used Localbitcoins you will need to send the bitcoins directly to your offline wallet. If you used Coinbase this is not an issue as your bitcoins will be stored on the exchange itself and will be accessible through your account.

3) Send your bitcoins to one of the following exchanges where you will be able to trade them for quarkcoins:

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/71
https://bter.com/trade/qrk_btc
https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/QRK_BTC/

4) Go to http://www.qrk.cc/ which is the quarkcoin homepage and download a quarkcoin offline wallet to store the quarkcoins that you just purchased as this is much more secure then leaving them online sitting on the exchange.

5) Send your quarkcoins to your offline wallet and then back up the wallet using the built in back up feature and store this file in a safe place and you're done.
There's really nothing supporting that; no one knows what's going to happen.  Those two are obviously the strongest but there is plenty of money to be made on other coins, trust me.

I did not get in on BITCOIN, BTW. UNFORTUNATELY.

Did you?

Quarks... :nerd:

too many alt coins popping up. How do we make sense of all this without running around like a headless chicken.

Bitcoin seems to be like a market tester.

I've been hearing lot of talk about bitcoin being the gold standard yet the other coins are created to fix the main issues that come up in dealing with bitcoin.

Any miners on here?

BTC just got basically its biggest endorsement ever, from Bank Of America Merril Lynch. Anyone who wants to invest in BTC I suggest reading this article. Part of what they said was:

"On the same day, Bank of America Merrill Lynch published its first research report on the digital currency, stating that it had the potential to “become a major means of payment for e-commerce and may emerge as a serious competitor to traditional money transfer providers.” BoA’s report went even further too, going as far as to place a “fair maximum value” on BTC at $1,300, with a maximum market capitalization of $15 billion."

I usually just buy a small amount of BTC every week, this time I just got a little more than usual.

And concerning Quark, my plan is to wait until that report airs, then sell just about all of what I'll have. Maybe I'll buy back in but that Keiser Report is probably going to create a brief mania.

How is that a big endorsement? They just said it's maximum value is $1,300 which we are already fairly close to without 99% of people knowing what it is. They are basically stating that it is extremely overvalued in today's market.

For the record, I am a bitcoin supporter and own a fair amount of coins, but people are too quick to hype up any news it receives.

Actually they said it should surpass $1300 soon at its current growth rate...take another look.

No, he said at it's current rate it COULD trade above $1300. But he clearly stated that $1300 is the fair maximum value of Bitcoin with a max market cap of 15 billion.

You're twisting words to create hype.

For the record, the statement was made last week pre-crash. The crash proved Bitcoin is still very volatile and was overvalued considering how its use is still limited.
