The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 301 in Brazil- Pantoja/Aldo etc. SAT 5/4

Probably because he's from Philly

Looks at SN...

Naw I'm just playing. Chicagos is one of the dopest cities. Everyone at the presser should be ashamed of themselves. Rooting for an Irish fella over a fellow Northeaster. Crazy thing is, Eddie is half Irish too

Conor saying "who the **** is THAT" is the greatest line ever. Not ever "who the **** are YOU", but referring to him as THAT. BARELY acknowledging his existence

Cot damn Conor ethered Jeremy Stephens.

Khabib vs Johnson set for 205 :pimp: . There's going to be so many post fight interview callouts to fight Conor. Edgar, Cowboy, Khabib.

damn ****** really that entertained by conor saying the same **** he usually says?
laugh.gif

These mma fighters really need to work on their responses. How you gonna let a guy from a potato island who people can barely understand get the best of you in verbal exchanges?

Deez nuts is the correct answer to everything.

Nah man. Conor usually engages and just says the "ill knock you out....I make more money than you"

But this dude literally put him beneath him in the most embarrassing manner in front of a rowdy NY crowd. I'm still in tears.

It's wild Conor prolly made more this year than everyone up on that stage has made in their career COMBINED :smokin

 I thought I'd be rooting for Alvarez since he's at least close to NYC..but i don't know. Finding myself hard to root for him.

Do you guys do any cardio on BJJ days? I just signed up for bjj last week and have went to 4 classes. I still gym and do HIIT during my lunch break, but I just feel completely beat after class. Wondering if I should tone down on the cardio during lunch.

I rarely do any traditional cardio for BJJ. I find that the best way to build cardio for BJJ is to get your rolls in. Just keep the rolls going, and eventually your body will adapt. You can also do BJJ drilling as cardio. That helped me a lot when I was still a newbie. 3 mins non stop drilling a specific move on a partner and then switch. Drilling sessions usually lasting 1 hour.

just caught up with the ufc/press conf
they really trying to make this like wwe

eddie looks smaller than conor :nerd:
but yeah, eddie aint one to play with

fighters must feel some type of way hearing conor getting damn near 40M this yr, while they are getting a fraction of it. conor's earned it, no doubt. if only other fighters knew how to sell themselves

Eddie doesn't look smaller at all, he's slightly shorter but much wider/more solid.

Remember when you had to clean out a divison before there was a super fight between two weight classes. The UFC wants McGregor to be a two division belt holder or at least have become the champ in two different divisions. Alvarez is a good fighter but he is fortunate to be the champ.

Not a McGregor fan not a hater either. I think he wins this one actually I just would like him to take on more challengers at 145. Alvarez hasn't defended his belt once.

that lil ****** in the crowd that was talking **** to alvarez is how i imagine a lot of the conor stans act.

i dont think conor will defend that 145 belt. ufc gonna hold that division hostage and tease those other guys on a chance to fight conor, which will not happen and leave the belt vacant once he retires

he really could be a 3 division champ by the end of 2017 depending who holds the 170 belt. there's some guys he could beat. only takes one punch

Lets be objective now. Hate em or love em you can't say McGregor didn't clean out the 145 division. Only person he didn't face is Frankie. Everyone else crumbled under the bright lights.

Traditional cardio is completely different from BJJ cardio. Only way to build it is to continue rolling. We do 5 minute rounds with a minute break in between.

Remember to control your breathing when rolling. Move like a snake and pick your spots to attack.

I've also pretty much stopped lifting. I'll do once or twice a week of just squat, bench, deadlift. But I pretty much train BJJ five times a week. I honestly get bored lifting now
