Do you mean Rockhold with Weidman or Weidman with Rockhold?

Chris don't want Luke's problems standing. He's definitely going to have to get into dirty boxing and wrestling

Weidman's overall stand up has gotten better every fight though. I feel like it's efficient but hopefully Chris doesn't get overconfident like he did with Vitor. Rockhold's striking is on another level, in a pure stand up battle Rockhold is going to take that every time

Mighty Mouse and Jones are probably the most complete you right.

Cain is pretty complete as well. His conditioning was terrible against Werdum tho

I have Jones and Werdum as the most complete followed by lawler

Robbie is one of my favorite fighters, but I can't put him in that class yet. I don't think I've ever seen him sub someone, and I know I've seen him get subbed.

No one's mentioned Aldo yet. Probably for the same reason. Never really seen a sub from him.

Weidman is quickly developing into a great striker. It may not always "look" like it, but dude did just beat Anderson, Vitor and Machida, and it wasn't like he solely relied on his wrestling in either. All elite strikers.

His KO of Munoz was butter smooth.

Based on what we've seen in fights, Jones, DJ, Werdum (been lighting dudes up on the feet), and I'll throw Weidman in are the most complete fighters IMO right now.

I dont see how weidman isnt one of the most complete fighters just because his striking isnt up to par. He did beat silva, machida and vitor. Those three are some of the best strikers ever

You guys are right I'll just point out that Vitor was gassed after like 2 minutes but had Weidman in trouble. This version of Vitor is definitely a bit different than TRT and before

Machida definitely was a worthy test though. He probably gave Weidman is toughest UFC fight to date

Anderson, well those were two statement wins regardless of the circumstances and Weidman took Munoz' soul

Definitely. I dont like weidman at all but i could see him cleaning out the middle weight division. The guy is just too well rounded and huge. After he does that and with improved striking i wouldnt be surprised if he gave jones a hella of a fight

Rockhold and Romero or Jacare are HUGE tests though. I mean Rockhold is in his prime and Jacare is looking like an absolute machine (hopefully it wasn't PEDs lol)

Defeating Rockhold would elevate Weidman to a high pedestal in my eyes but I could definitely see Rockhold winning. This matchup is probably one of the best ones you could make in MMA today

They did just show an old Lawler fight against Tiki Ghosn on FS1 though and that boy BEEN a savage

EDIT: They are also showing Ronda/Miesha 1.

Frank Shamrock: "Rousey has a long jab, but she stands up tall and leaves her chin up straight when she throws it"

Cue the recorder!

Weidman stand up is good enough to get by but by no means is he elite. He has good defense and range and well rounded but he can't stand too long with rockhold esp in kicking range, he's gotta close the distance and rough him up

How did he beat the greatest Muay Thai fighter to ever grace this planet?

First fight Spider put his hand down to play with weidman

Weidman doubled up on the right straight which spider wasn't expecting, then caught him blind side with the left hook

2nd fight checked leg kick freak accident

Chris completely dominated Spider twice. Regardless of the circumstances. I will say however that perhaps the threat of the take down weighed heavy on Anderson's mind, perhaps effected the overall dynamic of the second fight. But yeah, Chris dominated him everywhere

But either way, yeah Weidman isn't a slouch on his feet, he's at least above average. On top of that he's a pressure fighter with a solid chin that's too big and hits too hard for the weight class to think he won't be a problem for alot of those middleweights. I mean, Frankie Edgar is probably a more skilled boxer than Gray Maynard, but that didn't stop him from almost getting his roof knocked in by Gray two different times, size and power is always a problem if you manage to connect.

Having said all that though, I do think if he loses it'll be on the feet. Vitor and Machida both had him in bad spots and showed that he's definitely hittable. But they also showed that he has a serious chin too. This Rockhold fight should be very interesting.
