this isn't just NY though....you have these people everywhere. The dudes in bmore who live in section 8 houseing...have no car....wear the same sweatshirt every day....but some how have foams on his feet

I can walk to walmart, the bank, gas stations, gamestop, att, the mini mall, the gym, restaurants, and the liquor store all from my house. In the backwoods nothing is walking distance but don't say the whole south doesn't have things in walking distance.
 
^You don't have to explain, to most northeners (honestly just NYers), a map of the south to them is Alabama, Mississippi and nothing else.
 
But...when you have the option to walk,subways,buses,cabs on deck, Uber, and bikeshare thats convenience. Unmatched.

Exactly and the south really isn't that bad especially since I live in Birmingham which is located in Alabama but yeah man the south will forever be inferior to NYC just because we don't have frigid cold weather and don't take subways.

Gogo is actually good when you have a good band playing chill music. Its good party music. Say you're having a family function or something, some Chuck Brown on a sunday with the fam over is a good time.

Its all the kids who started making bands, not making original songs, making horrible remakes of radio songs into go go with no real history in playing an instrument that ruined it.

Back in 03-08 everyone had a "band". And they all sounded horrible. And none of the ************* could sing :lol:

You got the old head gogo, and then you got the gogo for the young dudes. I half hated gogo as a kid, but I had my favorite bands/songs. But the gogo my older cousins or family would play was always smooth.

Yeah I always hated GoGo, but Chuck Brown & Rare Essence were always good to me.

The rest really just all sound the same... a bunch noise

I respect the movement/culture though no doubt

Properly Chopped and Screwed music is actually on par Beethoven and Mozart in the in the sense that it used many, and often all, of the musical principals of syncopation.

Screw isn't necessarily about what your hearing... its often about what your not hearing and what your anticipating to hear. This is especially true for songs that people are already familiar with.


Im sure this is probably over most of your heads... but DJ Screw was truly an originator and a musical genius.... not just some guy who slowed down his records.
