I'm not yet Rustled, but how many classics have been dropped in this era vs the 90's? The 90's had so many damn classics that it makes ANY era before or after hard pressed to compete. I'm not even going to start naming names because I would be typing all night.

The word classic is overused, just because you favor that era doesnt mean everything was a classic

Everything wasn't classic but it was damn sure better music coming out than now. That's not even nostalgia talking, _'s now just sound lazy.

This. The word classic does gets thrown around today to stuff that is simply pretty good, or just a bit better than what a handful of people are doing.

Badboys>>Badboys 2

Miami Vice with J. Fox and Colin Ferrell was actually a pretty dope movie..

Well the 90's and early 00's had way more lyrical rappers then we have today
Well the 90's and early 00's had way more lyrical rappers then we have today

Being lyrical is only one aspect, theirs more to hip hop than being lyrical

being lyrical = having good handles, lyricism is overrated, its all about making good music

Being lyrical = having a post game

Having good handles = a rapper thats only good at making music for the clubs

To this day I still think it's a good movie, not great but good.

Real rappers can tell stories.

Everyone else is just rearranging and regergitating what other rappers said.

There's been a lot of great music put out in the past 10 years but it may escape you because there is so much content out.

I already posted in here but I have some new things to say:

I hate the way our generation uses the word thirsty

When people say something is ghetto or refer to someone as ghetto it makes me cringe.

Much better analogy, especially since being lyrical doesn't solely mean rapping the thesaurus. It could be simply getting your point across in a story.

in 5-10 years people will look at mainstream rap today the same way we currently look at lil john's music

90s rap is timeless
