There is an actual reason that Red Velvet cake doesn't taste as good now as it did in the past.

I can't remember what it is though...something to do with the ingredients used.
i agree its to "commercialized" now
everything gotta be red velvet now

The Wire is one of the greatest television series of all time . Fact

If you didnt like it then you fall into a few categories.

You either

A: Cant relate and therefore cant lend any credence to the storyline (which were excellent)
B: Have a bias towards shows that they are familiar with.
C: Are chronically cynical and hates everything
D: Never seen it and just wants to rustle peoples jimmies. Its too cold for that ish
REPPED
the wire is the GOAT
the story and characters were just perfect

Casino and Goodfellas :pimp:

Paid in Full :pimp:....and speaking of Wood Harris, Next Day Air :pimp: first time I saw that, I was just expecting a comedy, not a good amount of drama and full on gunfire to peoples head

So what if Scarface played a role in opening the door to other gangster movies, that don't mean it was good.

No need to group it with the Godfather. The 1st one was a classic, the sequel is a masterpiece.
How u gonna get an italian to play a cuban tho.
Dat was worse than jennifer garner playin elektra
Pacino did it twice though
How is The Wire overrated? Y'all just wanna go against the grain man...
 Reminds me of the Overrated Movie thread. Mad jimmies rustled over Scarface.

Over Scarface? it is overrated though.

never understood why people use "i cant relate" as a reason for not liking something

i hear this all the time when people talk about eminem, its one thing to just not like the sound of his music but to say "i dont like eminem because i cant relate to him" when your favorite artist is talking about killing people, driving expensive cars and being a drug kingpin is hypocritical

we're all people here, if we can relate and feel emotions towards animals on the discovery channel there is no reason to use "i cant relate" as an excuse when it comes to the work of another human being

A guy that never grew up in a hood environment simply cannot truly relate to some of the things said in songs. It's one thing to hear about "my little brother crying, smokers was constantly buying my Sega genesis or my auntie was stealing it, oh wee cut me some slack, weed never did that, ah man geez lewis please help me relax"  If you never grew up in that, it's a completely different feeling.

I'm going to say this internet culture has blurred the lines being reality and a screen, it's one thing to watch something or read a story but ti's another thing to live through that, it don't stop when the video ends b.

It's all preference, never watched Sopranos, WIre and Entourage

Trueblood and Walking dead are very overrated in my book

I'm a fan of Entourage and will admit it lacks in cinematic value or thought compared to say Sopranos or Breaking Bad. It's purely entertainment value, good for laughs with the homies.

I don't even know what yall talking about

I'm over here on urban dictionary what does thot mean why so many lames are using it.
It's what lames say when they wear shoes for the first time. Like the shoes losing their virginity or something.

its an amazing show but its not as untouchable clearcut #1 as people make it seem
What you got #1 all-time?

My tentative answer is Sopranos.
i have the wire for its ability to bring in a cast of new characters to add to the staples season after season and still being able to get the audience to build an emotional bond with each person

hard to pick a single #1 tv show though since i enjoy a show like friends just as much as the wire but its a totally different style/genre

You would've thought Scarface was GOAT status the way some ppl were defending it in that thread

It really had me perplexed. Like we're talking about Scarface right? Smoking mountains of coke and then dying in a wild ridiculous shootout siege on his mansion Tony Montana?

But when fictional story lines are presented the more compelling stories usually are heralded for their "realism" and "accuracy". Why? because they usually strike a chord with the audience. I simply said you probably fall into one of those categories. If you think the series was bad you are in the minority regardless of whether you can relate or not. Its still you opinion .
