There's fake everything. Shoes, jerseys, designer brands. You can't stop that, thousands of shops all over the world. Some of the fakes are damn near spot on, can't even tell. Then you got people that really don't care. It sucks and I wish there was something they could do about it but nothing ever will. And the fakes are only getting better.
 
Fakes will never be stopped or even slowed down. You can only hope to contain them, but its a lost cause.

There are still many things that are wrong on that pair. They look much better than the early fakes but there are still obvious signs that they are fake.

This. No matter how close they get, It'll never be close enough to fool us in hand or side by side in pics.
I still can't wrap my head around spending $200 on fakes when I can buy a nice pair of authentic shoes for the same price.

Yeah $200 is steep for some reps. They're close enough to fool if you have on foot and walking past someone but not if you're doing side by side comparisons.
 
You guys also have to remember that niketalk is a small part if the overall world. Most people don't care and I would even bet that a lot of people don't even know Kanye even makes shoes.

Then you have the 40+ million following that his Wifes family brings in to the equation. 

Alot of people know about these shoes.
 
A lot is not a majority and you can't figure everyone watching his wife shoe into being interested in his shoes. I would be generous and say that 40% knows about the shoes and less than that care enough about the shoes to know what they look like and want them.

I comprehend what you are saying but I fail to see how it ties into what we were talking about? Were you making an argument for fakes or were you talking about something else altogether?

The problem with that argument is that you state that MOST people don't care and probably don't know that Kanye makes shoes...

Then if they don't care why would they even be considering buying replicas of said shoe?

Wouldn't they just keep it moving and walk into one of the huge chain stores present at every mall and buy something in stock. Wouldn't that be the majority of the demographic you are referring to? While the minority in that group would be the ones that care enough about it and decide to investigate where they can get them. Then an even smaller portion of that same group would have to make the decision to go the replica route and risk being scammed by having to pay via unsecured methods (WU, MG, etc.)....

If your're claiming that sneakers enthusiasts and collectors are simply a niche group that only represents a small fraction of the overall sportswear consumer demographic... then you are absolutely correct... but then at the same time you have to realize that people that actually care enough to go research and purchase the top of the line replica in existence is as small or if not smaller than the sneaker enthusiast and collector community.

But yes, overall the replica market is growing. It is just the argument you are making to support it is not logically sound.

The shoe market crosses over into the fashion market as well. Many of the people that buy reps just want the look regardless of the brand. They use my earlier argument as a reason to go through with it because in all actuality, whose going to point out the fact that they are reps? In other words, they don't care who or wear the design came from. They just want it. Many people don't even know they are reps and aren't using insecure methods. They are going on Ali express and using PayPal thinking that they are buying "Trill Hip Hop Gothninja Boots".

Trust me I see exactly what you are saying but I am just trying to point out the flaw in your argument.

The amount of people that fit the description you provided is FAR outnumbered by the amount of people that incorporate the authentic sneaker community.

That is all I was saying. So nothing personal brother. That's all on that though.

Can't wait for the next drop.

You'd be gullible to think someone would spend $200 on some shoes without knowing who's shoes they are.  Especially if they are going through the sources necessary to get these reps in the first place because we all know that if these reps get on ebay they wouldn't be sold for $200.

The people buying these $200 reps know exactly what they are doing.  The people that buy $75 flea market versions of fakes are likely the people that don't care and just wanted a pair of shoes for cheap.
