The Combat Jack Show Thread

Listened to Joe's podcast.

It's ehhhhh. It has potential. They're going to have to do more with it than clowning the chick and exposing her groupie and hoism. That can get old. Plus I think she will eventually get tired of it, and someone will put a bug in her ear of how she looks.

Joe's stories can be interesting, but if he doesn't include names people might lose interest. Then again trying to figure out if he's talking about Yaris, Tahiry, Esther, Kaylin or the two other chicks might be entertaining also. For example giving bad **** to Yaris :smh: I know he wanted to redeem himself badly with that.

Juan ep will have to start booking guests which is a major transition from just moving artists from room to room and sometimes doing the radio bits and podcast in the same interview and room

it will be interesting to see if the artists take the trip to do the podcast

I think it will eventually just be rosenburg with guests every now and then and no ciph

Yeah, this is what I was saying. Nobody wants to hear Cipha and Rosenberg just talk. They're boring and not funny. It was easy to get guest for Juan Ep, because they were right at the station.

I think Rosenberg has woken up and he's trying to do stuff outside of Hot now, which is good, because Hot will be totally revamped shortly. Hopefully he'll carve out a spot in the indie lane.

I sort of hate how Combat is so guest dependent now. I used to like it when it was Dallas, Racist Pete, Combat, Just, Ben and A King just talking about whatever. That's missing.

I think that certain guest might not be for everyone, like Money & Violence or Uncle Murda.

Joe Budden was GOD on NT back in 07-08.

Crazy what social media and reality TV can do to someone's image

I still mess with his music. It really isn't him, it's more the co-host chick he spends most of the show getting into groupie stories from the perspective of the groupie about. Just not entertaining to hear them talking about her being a ****.

I think he got like Wale, he exposed so much of himself that he became corny. And now it's sort of uncool to be a fan of his.

The Raekwon/Wu incident being the low point.

Haven't started listening yet. Should be interesting. I listened to Ultra for a minute, but Keith lost me along the way.

I hate the shots Peter throws at Combat's show. He mentioned on Joe's podcast how some podcast are entirely too long. Analyze and critique your own podcast.

Keith was doing his own thing half the time during that interview.

Combat did an okay job of keeping him on track.

 I'm still 30 minutes in the interview and I kinda figured from the start this interview would one-sided.
I assumed Combat would have knowledge of the earlier material but albums like Dr. Octagon and going
further would be left up to Keith to explain, making it kinda ehhh. But I've been waiting for this interview,
along with Ice Cube whenever that happens.

Looks like they're getting Juvie next week

Ced Gee is one of my all underrated producers along with Larry Smith(RIP) and Mantronik, because I never really liked any of Ultramagnetic as rappers. Kool Keith had presence and a different voice, but wasn't lyrical.

The Juvenile interview was good. Pete trying to throw in the kissing question on the low

Sounds like Juvenile has his business right this time.

I was dyin how he tried to throw that kissin thing in
And how earlier in the interview he tried to kinda hint at baby preying on young boys
People always ask him about wayne
But from what I always knew is him and wayne ain't even close
Never was
Mostly cause of the age difference

Pete was waiting for the right time to get that off (||)

Combat cleaned that up like Pete was talking about business, but he knew what Pete meant  He already knew Juvie wasn't going to say anything and it wasn't that type of interview. I think Juvie was more comfortable towards the end though.

A Manny Fresh interview would be good. That dude doesn't age.

Anybody listen to Budden's podcast yet? Rosenberg fired not so subliminal shots at Combat from another country and Joe joked him for it  You've had a problem for years and instead of saying it on your podcast, you mention it in an interview?

He sounded like Lil Kim, he wants to be respected, because he was doing it first.

Dude said we do this for a hobby, you do it for a job. As if his job at Hot 97 isn't on shaky ground.

The **** is funny, because he's upset, because he's cool with Pete and Star. As if they're friends and Combat shouldn't be friends with his "enemies"

Dudes lame as ****, you would think he invented the podcast.

Dude needs to worry about the big star he's been promising for three weeks. And he should have dropped part two of the Marley Marl episode two months ago.

Rosenberg is always playing victim. Has nothing to do with how he looks or sounds. That's a weak *** dramatic card to pull. It has everything to do with this sense of entitlement and condescending tone he has. He seems to think he's some hip hop messiah. Dude needs to chill the **** out before all those words come back around to bite him on the ***.

Rosenberg is a joke. Same type of guy Dame Dash rants about all the time. I wouldn't mind hearing a 30 minute Dash rant on him either.

Rosenberg is so suburban, it's like he heard people talk about street rules, and then tries to apply them to his life and lifestyle, because he wants to fit in so badly. Even though they make no sense. It's obvious Combat doesn't have an issue with the show, he's had Cipha on the show twice and even Ebro. He might have an issue with Rosenberg. Rosenberg has thrown shots and wants it to be some sort of competition.

In his head he still thinks he was right in the Chuck D situation, because he was trying to rationalize it. He went about it the wrong way? No, you were wrong and so was everything about it.

And to throw shots at someone who was a lawyer in the industry and also worked at MTV and The Source
