Wearing women's clothing isn't gay though. That's the thing. The only thing that's gay is being attracted to/having sexual relations with other men. Like...the entire gay community decided that a rainbow was going to be there thing, now rainbows are gay. Naw. This wearing women's clothing thing is weird, sure. But to call clothing gay is pretty weird too. Call it feminine, because it is. But to be gay isn't to be feminine. And Young Thug doesn't exhibit feminine behavior...much.

To say he's leveraging his masculinity is to say that masculinity has to be neatly packaged in a way you've come to understand it. What he is doing is actually destroying that...or attempting to. He's saying, he'll shoot you and he's wearing a dress. He's tough and his jeans come in a single number size. The juxtaposition of his music and aesthetic. The fact that nobody has really ran up on him to test it out says a little something to me.

No doubt it's weird. And even though I just explained it, I think it's less contrived than people think. I really just kinda think that's him. He does "troll," too. ie. the hooters shirt, but the majority of the time, he really isn't wearing clothes that are even flagrantly for women. That's the way he wants to dress, sometimes. Because really, they are just clothes.

I just think he's a weird guy. I mean, the interviewer said dude doesn't even like eating and he gets vitamins IVed to him. Just...weird.

Music is dope though.

But young thug actually shows attraction to other males, he often calls them sexy and even his baby, it's way beyond wearing women clothing. Now whether he's joking or not is a different story

If the **** was tough why not? As long as it didn't come off corny and forced I wouldn't care. Slim Jesus for example, that **** seem so forced and lame u can't rock with son, he don't even believe himself. You're proving my point that image and persona DOES play a role in the music tho. 

Slim Jesus comes off corny and forced to you because YOU CAN SEE  him being corny and forcing the image that he's rapping about. So you can't say "if the **** was tough, why not". If his music was incredible...then you wouldn't care about him being corny or forcing anything because all you'd care about is the music

This ain't even really about Young Thug...im speaking in general because I see people here often say they don't care about anything but the music. I just find that to be contradictory. We just had the discussion in another thread about artists that shuffled through multiple gimmicks until they found one that worked (i.e - Rick Ross). So if we're acknowledging that, then OF COURSE ppl care about image.

U got a point but even then to me a plays a small portion. Idc if u didn't do all that **** in your songs but u better at least had grew up in an environment where that stuff was going on. U can't talk the super dope boy **** and u from Wallah wallah Washington with both parents are are college graduates. But even then the music gotta be dope. Maino and uncle murda probably got all the stripes in the world but the music sucks. It goes hand in hand.

Thug is a terrible rapper but he knows how to work with the beats he gets, that's why im a fan but maino and uncle murda are trash. Murda did kill that hot97 freestyle though. As long as bro aint blatantly saying zesty stuff on his songs he'll get s couple spins in the whip

None of that is in his music so I couldn't care less about anything he's doing outside of his music.

If he wants to wear dresses so be it. I'm enjoying the new project and him wearing a dress isn't gonna change how much I enjoy the music.

To all those who think he's just like any other ***** that makes trap music y'all not really listening.

Musically, his ear for melody and ability to flow is beyond anybody else sans Future easily.

He goes farther experimentally than any other artists making trap music too.


Maybe you don't like his persona or whatever but you can't deny he's a gifted artist.
