st brown just got resigned. Thinking Aiyuk deal could be similar if not higher. I doubt we trade him but if we do I hope it’s for a high enough pick to take Nabers.

Yeah, IDK if paying Aiyuk close to what St. Brown is the move if they are trying to get back to the SB this year AND pay Brock his deal next year.

Could see the niners just making BA play out the last year on his contract and drafting a WR in round 1 to be his replacement. If the rookie wr looks good, they let BA walk in free agency next year and get draft compensation for him.
Or they draft deebo’s replacement to trade deebo next year and re-sign aiyuk?
In either case, niners don’t have to make a move with Aiyuk right now and can kick the can down the road. Just tough drafting a wr in the first round this year knowing they need a better right tackle and right guard asap.

I’m hoping I don’t get a notification on my phone saying that Aiyuk has been traded at some point later today.
But I’m also aware that sometimes gm’s need to make unpopular moves which have the potential to have long term gain. If they trade Aiyuk, and hit on whatever draft capital they get in exchange for him and they nail this draft. Well that changes the conversation completely.
My only thing is you gotta hit on your picks with them ideally contributing immediately. Because you’ll get that “I’m just happy to be here, I can’t get wait to get to work” energy that Aiyuk had 4 years ago for the first few seasons. But they’re going to eventually also be on that “**** you pay me” energy that Aiyuk is currently on if they end up being any good. And to be fair they, just like Aiyuk absolutely should be given the cutthroat nature of the NFL and short careers that come with it.
