Do you guys think Baalke is on his way out? Read that article from Kawakami about the possibilty and who'd become the new GM.

Don't ever do that again.

With the Browns releasing Josh Gordon, would yall give him a shot? Personally, I'd sign him and wait as long as he needs

Alright, I think everyone has encouraged me not to read Kawakami moving forward

check out the podcast from 9-26 with bowman

bow is very candid and critical of his young teammates. he talked about guys not sticking to their assignment.

@ 1:43 "if you want to go take your shot, take a chance and leave a hole in the defense, you HAVE to make those plays"

PERFECT EXAMPLE is the touchdown by christine michael on the 3rd play of the game

WATCH PURCELL

zA9R9yqYHqb84.gif

first, mike purcell aligns in the wrong gap

his job is to get a body on the guard, stand the center up and essentially CLOG the middle of play flow. this creates a choke point at the "bubble"(attack point of the play for the RB) and forces the RB to either cut back or TFL(tackle for loss).

INSTEAD, purcell opts to "shed"/tosses his man aside, and go thru the back door to try to make a play. he essentially ABANDONED his assignment and got cut block. he eliminated himself from the play. there's a huge ripple effect just by this one little **** up. the result is a massive running lane in the A gap, and a free release to the second level for the Seattle center and guard to block Bow and Hodges.

even tho purcell lined up wrong, this play could have been salvaged if he played his fit(stayed on his man), and kept the LBs clean.

There were plenty of these type of breakdowns throughout the game. Either the guys aren't being coached up correctly, have too much on their plate, or simply aren't executing their jobs.

this is not a "lack of talent" issue, this is a lack of coaching and execution issue.

It's on Jim O'neil and his staff to HAMMER THIS **** HOME. DO YOUR ******* JOB.

FOOTBALL IS THAT SIMPLE. IT'S THE MOST ECHOED PHRASE IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL:DO YOUR ******* JOB

Why are defenses like Seattle's and New England's so good? Because they have elite talent everywhere? no, it's because everyone does their job, and they do their job at a high level. If I can coach up a bum to do his job, year in and year out, it's a lot easier to remain competitive for many, many years doing that than to solely depend on talent.

eli harold and gerald hodges. the two worst players on this defense.

anyone ever remember seeing lynchmobb get pushed around like this?

i dont understand what baalke was thinking when he took eli harold. the guy looks nothing and plays nothing like baalke's prototypical 3-4 OLB. baalke deviated from the blue print when he took eli. we know what they're supposed to look like: aldon smith and aaron lynch are the archetype. even with all the weight he put on over the off-season, he looks small and weak out on the field. I think he's better suited to play as 4-3 OLB than a 3-4 OLB. possibly would be a better fit at ILB in our defense. he's a second year player in a new defense, so he gets the benefit of the doubt, for now.

hodges wouldn't even be on the field if it weren't for ray-ray getting hurt. not much you can do there, but this guy is just flat out terrible. just zero instincts, awareness, or play recognition. the play is going to the right, and he's going to the left. what the ****.

he's a massive liability in our defense.

Thoughts on Jake Browning red? I saw him play in high school and didn't really think much of him. I always thought he was a product of the spread system in Folsom.

his high school numbers are insane.

he looks good. i want to see more.

UW has some grown *** MEN on their d-line. a lot of polys. #50 #99 are behemoths. gets bad *** points for no gloves.

For what it's worth, Tim Ryan was on KNBR yesterday, and he said Gabbert is getting an extra long leash because he's flat out better than Kaepernick in practice. If Kaepernick wants the job, he's going to have to take it from Gabbert in practice.

this fan base would fall in love with patrick mahomes after kap gets the boot. i have no doubt.
