OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

Just to give you an idea about the temptations where I work... I'm an Events Manager at a full service Hilton... Cookies and bagels and sandwiches and anything else you can imagine surround me 9 hours a day. :lol:   They cook hot meals for employees as well, usually pasta's or beef products or BBQ Chicken and always a dessert selection.

On top of that, yesterday was my birthday and these fools got me an ice cream cake from Friendly's :smh:   Threw that sucka in the freezer for the next week and forgetting about it until then.

Once you get your will power to the point of no return it becomes easier to resist these temptations.  12 ppl standing around eating the cake thats for me and I was able to say no 0_0.



I'll use this to confess my 2 transgressions, last friday at lunch I had 1 beer and today I had a Gluten Free hard cider at lunch... Both days I was up at Gore Mountain snowboarding. There I said it.

Same boat here. Its my birthday tomorrow and my firm got me a Lemon cake from Nothing Bundt cake. I DID NOT EAT ANYTHING. People looked at me like Im some weirdo. Telling me I should just have some.

That would have defeated the purpose of me doing this. If I cave in every time someone said "just have a little bit" then I'd be back where I started.

BTW., Aquarius rule the world. LOL. Happy birthday bro.

As of yesterday I am out.

Was an interesting experience.

I think I'll continue to juice but that's in addition to food and exercise
 
Im going to buy a Hamilton beach big mouth juicer after work today. me and my old lady are going to do a 5 day juice fast starting tomorrow.

we are going to see how that goes and then continue accordingly. i want to do 3-4 weeks but i dont want to get in to far over my head.

trying to get lean, and get a some muscle tone. also i when i sit back and think about what i eat its actually quite ridiculous. i need to change!!

Good luck to you and your girl. Remember, you guys gotta have each others backs on this. If you feel like you want to give in, just distract yourself with something. The more you sit and do nothing, the easier it is to give in.

If anything has a weird taste, add more lemon. Lemon will help change the flavor. It might also be easier to either down it or drink it through a thick straw.

mango lemonade from trader joes, half a banana, and frozen berries also from trader joes. Also, whole food has frozen acai berry, really good superfood

^1st Ingredient :lol: I'm still drinking the kale, celery, cumber one every morning. Today I didn't add strawberries & granny smith instead I used 1 Fiji. Probably won't be using that recipe again.

mango lemonade, trust me its the best juice mix i've used for smoothies. No need to add ice, the berries are frozen and will make it cold. Also I will add yogurt on occasions or mango sorbet ice cream also makes it really good

Unlike juices, smoothies consist of the entire entire fruit or vegetable, skin and all and contain all of the fiber from the vegetables.
However, the blending process breaks the fibre apart (which makes the fruit and vegetables easier to digest ) but also helps create a slow, even release of nutrients into the blood stream and avoids blood sugar spikes. Smoothies tend to be more filling, because of the fiber, and generally faster to make than juice, so they can be great to drink first thing in the morning as your breakfast, or for snacks throughout the day.

By including the fiber in your smoothie, the volume will increase. Also, you can pack more servings of fruits and veggies into a single serving of juice than you can into a smoothie.
 
OP, is 16 pounds in 14 days really healthy though? There's a high chance you will gain it all right back when you stop juicing, no?

also, how much do you spend on juicing a week?

People say I already do and Im barely on my third week. To be honest, I dont see it in the mirror but I see it in my clothes. They fit really loose now.

Of course its healthy, why wouldnt it be? Some people feel because Im not eating Im killing my body and losing weight the wrong way. Again, Im drinking all the good stuff instead of eating it and I think thats what worrying people. The fact that I drink instead of eat is whats causing people to say Im doing something wrong. Like I said before, I would rather much drink my fruits and veggies than eat a plate full of fruits and veggies. I guarantee no one will eat kale on its own. And if you do, theyre not eating 4-6 leafs of it at a time. If you blend everything, you can simply down it and its over in 6-10 seconds and not in 10 mins.

I cant say how much I spend in a week because I buy in bulk. We go to costco once a week and spend $50 maybe less on fruits and veggies. Stuff I cant find at costco I buy at Ralphs or Srpouts. So in a week I can say about 70 or so??? I dont know. But I will check for you.
 
I doing the juicing diet with the bullet I feel great more energy also your sex drive will be through the roof I'm faster when I'm hooping but need to left weights to build strength I suggest people to try it
 
50-70 isn't so bad

That's how much i at times spend at the grocery store a week as well

This def has me interested because the past 2 weeks I've been having 1 or 2 fruit/veggie smoothies a day and completely forgot about this post

currently using a jack lalanne juicer, might buy a magic bullet just so i can mix in bananas and frozen fruit
 
Glad you're still going OP. I think the juicing works from the inside out, so most of the aesthetic changes won't occur until the end.

Was your sickness a recurring deal or possibly your body ridding itself of built-up toxins? Heard numerous stories that those with some deep rooted toxins experience horrible sickness well into their fast and once it clears up feel even better than before when they thought they couldn't feel any better.
 
Sorry for not updating guys. Havent been feeling well and had a lot to do at work because I missed a day and a half.





So here is my 3rd week update.

Not a lot has changed since last week. I got sick on Monday night and continued till Wednesday morning. I juiced Monday night and I did not work out. I had ZERO energy and body was breaking down.

Tuesday morning, I could not get out of bed so I called in sick to work and slept the whole day. Only thing I ate on Tuesday was a half piece of toast and a lot of water. I did not juice at all on Tuesday, everything was grossing me out.

Wednesday, I juiced in the AM but felt like vomiting during lunch so I did not finish my lunch. Dinner was the same too. After Dinner, I felt like I had to throw up so I did. NOTHING CAME OUT but felt better after.

Thursday, still feeling sick but was able to drink all my juices and felt a little better. Im not sure why or how I got sick.. All that matters is that I feel good now but still have that grossed out feeling. The smell of food makes it worse.

I DID NOT WORK OUT ALL WEEK. I will tonight and get back into my groove again.



The weight lost has slowed down dramatically. I weighed my self on Wednesday afternoon and Im still at 227 lbs. On Saturday I was at 228lbs. Can anyone explain how that is possible?

Ive been working out, havent cheated so I dont understand why Im not losing weight as fast as I was. Its actually annoying but maybe you guys can help me understand.

I did mentioned that the smell of food has begun to disgust me. I dont know if its because Im still sick or because of the juicing. I cook for my kids but have to step away from the smell (And Im only cooking chicken). I dont know, its weird to

me. Funny thing is that I still get mouth watery when I see a commercial or begin to think of a nice Double Double from In N Out. I start eating again next week and I think Im going to follow Bens idea and start vegan. Fruits, Veggies and

a lot of raw nuts. Just to get things going. Ill try lean meats and fish next Monday. I'll let you know how that goes.


People claim they can tell ive been losing because of my face and my clothes. To be honest, I look in the mirror and I still see the same person I was 3 weeks ago. But I do notice it in my clothes. When I was at 248, my work shirt size was a

18 1/2. I can now wear a sz 17 maybe even a 16 1/2 (I dont own a sz that small but will go to the mall and try one out.). My Ralph Lauren Polos are a sz XL they fit very loose and can probably wear an L. Im trying to get into that Extra Medium

LOL. Maybe Im being too hard on myself but whatever, Im still not happy with what Im seeing. Theres a lot more that needs to be done and Im gonna get it done. My goal is to be at 180 by beginning of June. Do you guys think thats

possible? I will definitely continue trying and will not stop trying.
