Was listening to the authors of that new Biogenesis & Alex book. It was interesting hearing them.

Basically said, MLB wanted players to use roids around 2000 (we all knew that). The reason why Alex got permission in 07 and 08 was basically because once you stop using, your body stops producing the testosterone that you need. MLB knew he was using early and wanted him to. Then when it became a big deal, they knew he needed to use.

Shane Greene was called up earlier this yr and came in on relief in a horrible situation ( like bases loaded or 2ndand 3rd with no outs) and had a really really bad outing..they shouldn't throw inexperienced pitchers in crazy situations..starting them is a boost of confidence..he also had a pretty good spring training this yr

Cashman woulda did anything to keep tanaka from pitching in that all star game. This works out perfect as far as timing, he'll get plenty of rest.

I don't think he was gonna pitch in the ASG anyway. He was scheduled to pitch on Sunday and I think that would've made him ineligible.
