Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Season Thread Vol: (17-17)

Nice! Hope you had fun and repped the Chi properly.
Good to see all those Cubs fans in attendance. Miller Park is really nice, always a good time there not to mention you actually get some bang for your buck when you buy beer there, hate paying upwards of $8 for half a damn can of old style :x

3 straight series wins.
7 wins last 10 games.

Joe Nathan gets the win in his first game.

Arrieta tomorrow. :pimp:

Addison is 22. Baez is 23. Happ is 22.

Torres is 19 in Single A. Awesome, but does he help us this year, next year, or the year after?

For the love of god please make the deal...if it happens...

Nathan/Strop/Edwards/Grimm/Warren/Montgomery

Rondon

Chapman

Mother of God

Chapman 9th
Rondon 8th
Strop 7th
Nathan/Grimm/Wood/Montgomery/Warren 6th

And we get Schwarber back next year

Schwarbs
Bryant
Soler
Russell
Baez
Rizzo
Heyward
Contreras

All under 27.

Still have Happ, Eloy, Eddy Julio Martinez, Almora, Candelario, McKinney, + multiple young arms on the farm for 2017+.

Deep, deep, deep roster + farm system.

I'm having an argument with this guy on Facebook that he actually thinks that if Chapman come to the Cubs that he has to earn the closing job LOL SMH

Also, Cubs with a huge comeback win, Giants/Nats lose, and Cards down 9-1 in the 2nd. Today already a great day, adding Chapman would be cherry on top.

Think I'd rather have Sale. Just can't get down with Chapman because of the DA incident. Obviously though, closer is a bigger need.

He had a few 'incidients' in Cincinnati that didn't make national news. Dude just seemed to be involved in 'odd' circumstances

White Sox wouldn't trade us Sale. And even if they would entertain the thought, they'd want 4-6 players, 3 of which big league ready. They don't want the Cubs to shine.

Sale is a pipe dream, highly doubt it manifest.
Quintana on the other hand....I strongly believe Jed can make something happen.
Kenny Williams and Rick Hanh should be fired, but once again Reinsdorf's loyalty to his inept front offices rears its ugly head.
The Sox would be smart to trade with the Cubs as we have some of the best prospects around.
