Michael Sam Ramifications Not Yet Thought Of

Thing is some of the gay nfl players probably got wives/gf

Too many dl brothas out here smh

I'm just waiting to see someone come out that doesn't have a zest in his step.

Sam talks with his neck and it's wired how you can tell he's gay. Like his team wasn't shocked.

Almost had it with Aaron Rodgers but he still keeping that closet door shut

Falcons got like 4-5.

Who ever signed there during free agency.... :nerd: :nerd:

Being an elite athlete has absolutely nothing to do with your sexuality though.

Almost 2k players in the NFL. Only 15 of them gay. Right.
Right

? I'd say it's definitely much higher than that
It actually does though. You guys are making the assumption that gay men will want to subject themselves to an environment that might be toxic for them. Think about it like this, a lot of the big cities across America have large homosexual populations because it is more accepted and they're freer to be themselves, as compared to maybe some of the more rural areas. If 10% of a population is gay, that 10% can be spread out in a number of ways across a region. The same thing applies in athletics, not as many will want to be around where they may not be wanted or free to be themselves. So again if 10 percent of people are gay, you can't assume 10% of athletes in the NFL are as well. I don't think you can just look at the numbers and acquiesce to the percentages. These things are always skewed one way or another and I wouldn't be surprised if truly it was as low as 1 percent in the NFL. There's long been rumors of rampant homosexuality in the music and film industry, because its more accepted on the highest levels. So you might see as high as 20% in those industries, thus balancing out the numbers.

I thought Osi was ******* a ton of chicks and ******** on their chests?
He was. Some of those odd sexual habits raise red flags.
Wait, how?  In terms of the possibility of Osi being gay?  As if there aren't straight dudes that get off on that ****?

I hope you see what's wrong with that statement.

It's one thing if Osi's been seen with guys and there's rumors but god damn that goes back to the idea of stereotyping homosexual males as hypersexual deviants.

I disagree. Being homosexual is far more prevalent than a lot of ya'll want to believe ,and that goes for every profession, across every region all across the world. Plenty of grown men out there who are secretely homosexual and will never act on it in their entire lives, because they're afraid of how they'll be percieved. Plenty of dudes living in these "rural" areas who are suspect, but would never admit it because they grew up going to church. I'm sure it's a lot of the same in the NFL. Dudes don't want to come out while their in the league for obvious reasons.

Not every gay man is flamboyant. Not every gay man is feminine. It's a sexual preference, nothing more, nothing less.

I believe its 5% of the population, in sports you have to assume that it would be less simply because of the hostility of young men.

I'm not saying it's less b/c I care how many gay dudes play football. I honestly don't care how prevalent it is, if you can play then by all means. The point that was made was that if you have to secret yourself away it stands to reason that the percentages would decrease. Whether they come out or not, there's still a measure of discomfort that will inevitably discourage them from playing the sport.

Amongst other factors. The hypermasculinity, the partying and the groupies it brings, the media, etc etc. I'm positive there are world class talent homosexual athletes who either give up on or flat out never chase their dreams for fear of what they'd have to deal with.

I'm not that guy, brotha. Best friend growing up came out in college, love him like a brother. My delivery was improper, I'll take flack for that.

To be blunt, are you alternative lifestyle?

Champ, no disrespect, that's your people.

But Raji? Got that vibe, or just a gentle giant type dude?
Big teddy bear. Seeing him interact in public, you would never guess he's a football player. Always cracking jokes. Shoots hoops when he's at mom's house.

Sam Speaks On Gays In NFL - ESPN Video - ESPN

Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith discuss Michael Sam's comments that there are other gay players in the NFL and why Sam isn't on a team.

nfl is dumb as hell for forcing teams to do the show anyway. What's the penalty if a team absolutely refuses to be on the show?
