Acetone hurt 3M?

I'm stripping the finish off of a "Joker" 3 & I was wondering if getting acetone on the 3M part will do anything to it? (It might not be 3M but it feels like it and it lights up in a flash)

Also could I paint on this material?

i have both acetoned and painted over reflective material so i can answer both.

1- acetone will do no harm to the reflective surface.

2- you can paint onto it, but the paint will not reflect.

It should be obvious but does this hold true for the 5lab3s if I tried to strip and paint a pattern on them?
