It can't be because they all team up to revenged Hartigans death led by Nancy and that is also why Marv was wondering where he was because I guess he thought he was dead?
I really am not sure though, this is supposedly a prequel but the trailers says otherwise.

Man I know Frank Millar ain't doing nothing at this EXACT moment. He needs to clear this mess up. I think the Hartigan's revenge is an Original Story just for the movie too. We really need Frank here NOW
