Why do we refuse to take Child Molestation seriously when the offender is a Female?

If a 23 year old male was involved in a situation like that with a 15 year old female, there is no doubt in my mind that people would have taken it much more seriously.

South Park explained why. It's just a double standard. It's kind on the same lines as why people shun to men kissing but have no problem with lesbians.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this.

The kid was 15 or 16 when it happened? Was it his first sexual experience ever? If so maybe it could some how scar him mentally...even though he consented...which with a 15 or 16 year old...i feel like you can say no.

The issue with when it is a man it is more of a physical overbearance thing. Like the girl couldn't get out or say no because the man could physically harm her. But with a dude no one has that sypathy because a 15-16 year old could over power a woman if it came to it.

The mental scaring seems like it would be the same as if anyone was in a relationship that ended abruptly...the "i thought she loved me" syndrome.

Double standards

Men sleeping around and would get praise from peers but a women doing the same would and she's a sloot

You are describing forced rape, this is a situation of Statutory rape/Child molestation.

It's pretty obvious why. Dude answered it perfectly. Even if the girl consents there's still this idea that he could be scared. With a boy...society at large thinks he probably wanted to do it. When I was 15 if the baddest teacher wanted to have sex with me I'd do it, no questions asked, with a big *** smile on my face

The issue isn't whether the 16 year old boy consented or not. It's if a 15, 16 year old girl consented with a man, he would receive much more punishment. So, the topic is why is this so?

I think this is assumed though if the roles are flipped thats all i was saying. Wasn't necessarily assumed in a forced raped case

Like older teacher (male) has relations with younger student (female). Everyone claims she couldn't get out of the situation if she wanted to, he mentally brainwashed her and then was scared to tell anyone because he could physically harm her.

Or something along those lines. I feel like thats always used as a scape goat but never used in the other situation....just a thought...carry on

According to women, Jedi mind tricks are real.

Women are in a far more vulnerable position, that's why. We can't over power a man despite our best efforts at times.
If a boy consents to sex with an older female - boss
If a girl consents to sex with an older male - ***** in the making

Statutory rape has nothing to do with being overpowered. That kind of faulty logic is a large part of what allows women to get off scoff free in these situations.

There are plenty of cases on either side where both parties "Consent", but "Consent" is irrelevant when the younger party is under the legal age of consent. The legal age of consent exists because adolescents and young teens do not yet possess proper decision making skills, therefor putting 100% of the blame on the adult party.

That is the grey area though.

Society puts itself into the victims shoes. As males....most of us would say "wow if that were me id be really happy about piping a teacher/adult at 15 years old". As a female woman say "she was taken advantage of!"

And since none of (or most) us have been in this situation so its impossible to tell how it would effect us.
