Nash could be in the deal. (Likely) Boozer could be bought out. (Unclear) We MUST get a pick of some sort, hopefully. Any year, just get one.

Finally, we have "some" hope. The Young deal is terrible tho. Absolutely terrible. :smh:

No it's not. Shooters are always in demand. Especially bench shooters. Even more so for playoff contenders. If he is blocking moves (I doubt he will, because it's an insignificant number over 4) he can be moved quickly

Not going to sit here and act like I don't care but whenever this deal does go down for Pau, it's been great having him as a Laker. Even though he played a shell of his former self, he handled everything with class and professionalism. Countless trade rumors year after year  . I wish him all the best in Chicago.

Can't you see why B.Scott is being made the coach?

If Scott was smart he would turn it down. He got set up for failure in Cleveland and is being setup here. The Lakers FO and TWS are trying to put on a front that they made big moves today to keep the LAL $$$$ coming in.

Furthermore, I don't like the waiting on a player to choose the coach. Leave that shhh to the small markets. We need to establish an identity of where Lakers are going have the temporary coach in place and make real attempts to fill out the roster.

Now my question is, how many of our draft picks over the next 5 years do we still own.

As for that loser Gilbert. I hope CLE NEVER gets a ring under him. Dude straight did Lakers dirty with that POS Stern, cried here and there acting like a little B, magically racked up 3 #1 draft picks, mucked up the CBA, and now got LBJ back because the boy can't stay through the hard times (I agree wit Pat on that). Now that everything had worked in his favor, all is well and the Lakers (for some reason) have taken the full brunt of his actions. Yeah, I'm still salty over that CP3 ****!

Agreed.
Well said.

Appreciate what he helped us achieve while he was at his peak. At the end of the day Pau was a class act through it all. Wish him well too. :pimp:

Like the somebody that been callin for this stuff for over a year, or somebody else?

Like somebody who thinks they're views are the ONLY way and those that disagree are dumb or don't get "it".

I know, everyone labeled me the "only way" guy, the "black and white" guy, "dictator" etc.

When what I am is the back my stance guy. I don't go back and forth daily on what I want. I'm not like a lot of the other fish in here that want playoffs one day, then tank today, then anti tank tomorrow.......

Actually, I did that yesterday, so nevermind.

But I assume everyone knew I wasn't really pro Melo, pro Byron Scott ( :x ) pro mediocrity. Maybe I'm wrong on that.

He's a 40% shooter that put up numbers under MDA during a tanking year. He's garbage, and already about to be 30. With FOUR years.

If Byron wants to slow it down, play defense and halfcourt, NY is a terrible fit with his 1 rebound, 1 assist a night skills.

He's been punted from 3-4 other teams already, he's merely a nice kid with a famous girl.

Nobody is trading for him, less we givin out more picks to get rid of him.

He's worthless and now the new Luke Walton contract, Meeks should have been kept over him 105 times outta 20.

yall could conceivably get the Kings top-10 protected pick from the Bulls maybe, but if I'm the Bull I am banking that they finish with a better record than the Kings so probably just their own pick (if they have one)

Best of luck to Pau Gasol.

I will forever appreciate his time here. I'm sad to see him go now that it's happened, even though it was clearly best for both sides and something I've anticipated for a while.

The writing was on the wall for him in LA. He's not at a level where he can do anything worthwhile for us in our situation (and the Lakers can't do anything for him, either), but I still think he has enough left to give the right situation and roster a boost. I think Chicago has a chance to be that. I hope it is.

February 1 '08 will always be one of my favorite Laker days. I remember everything about it, right down to what I had for lunch reading the NT thread about the trade.

I'll just repost this from Pau's photography book.

PS I just noticed everything under Kobe's signature. I wonder if he wrote all that as well

I'm sure Kobe did write all that hahaha.

"Until the Pau Gasol situation is resolved - and the Lin deal done, etc. - don't think Lakers sign Julius Randle"

.....Well, hopefully when I wake up tomorrow, everything will be gravy.

I'm pretty sure a Pau-Boozer trade is unlikely because then Boozer's salary would block the team from re-signing Young and Hill. Might even block the Lin signing.

I woudn't mind taking Dunleavy, but I doubt they would throw him into the deal. Plus he would help earn wins.

Nice highlight clip form clarkson , definitely showed flashes of a good young point guard.

Props to the NTer who gushed about him earlier in the thread, I would quote you but these threads have jumped 100 pages it seems.

So is it gunna be lin starting? and clarkson coming off bench? How bout Marshall?

Lin then Marshall
Even tho I think at some point in the season Lin runs the 2nd unit while Marshall starts

Clarkson will have to earn his minutes
Or just give him Nash's minutes. He won't be needing them

Wait, you've been calling for overpaying bench players, trading Pau for Boozer, and giving the Suns our pick next year?
