Macklemore is Done!!!!

His Thrift Shop song should not have been number 1 rap song.

He has some cool stuff, but number 1 rap song?

I enjoy indie /rock shows better than hip hop shows. Like I really don't see the point of watching a dj play the instrumental while the artist recites the lyrics. Sounds like karaoke.

Jay z alway has a live band though and he always give them shine, a lot of rap cancers are boring though especially Wayne and Ross because they jump around stage and you can't understand them, drakes music doesn't translate well at live shows because he just yells, plus a lot of his music involves singing which sounds horrible live , nas is pretty good live (but we won't ever have to worry about him performing at arenas cause his fan base is to small), as far as breath control and arena performances I'll give that to me and jay

I've seen Jay Z live more than a handful of times and I always enjoy myself. By far the best live performer I've ever seen.

inb4 "Well you only listen to rap, you need to go see Pearl Jam live"

For the people saying rap shouldn't be in arenas because the energy isnt there must have not went to the watch the throne tour

For real. They had the crowd immersed into it from the onset. How else do you do the same song three times in a row, pretend to leave, then start the song again and everyone runs back into the arena? The WTT tour was madness.

I will say that I would love to see Jay Z do a smaller venue concert and do some his non singles. There are some songs that I would love to hear live. I would not mind paying a large premium for something like that. Another MTV Unplugged, with songs like Soon You'll Understand

I was actually going to say opposite. Went to WTT tour in my city and for the most part crowd looked uninterested at points and the higher up seats most were just sitting the whole show. The most excited the crowd got was when performers came out so they could snap photos.

Well I don't know anything about that because I always sit on the floor

I went to the Hard Knock Life tour in 1999 and it was a solid show. That was when X and Hov were both approaching their prime.

Nothing like a rock concert in the summer though. I'm talking you have the time of your life before you even enter the venue. Tailgating with BBQ, drinking games, openly puffing, everyone just happy as pigs in s**t, college girls galore. I might hit one of those country fests this summer and not even buy tickets

Still, it's rare that rap can pull that off. It takes two of the biggest acts with one of the top selling albums to get anywhere close to having a great concert in an arena. Like I doubt Jay and Beyonce's Run concert will be any better then the Jay and JT one. Even at the Rihanna and ASAP concert, ASAP had such a mellow dramatic show compared to Rihanna. Dude had one hype man and just rapped all that he could do and I don't think none of Rihanna's fans cared. There's just something about small venues with rap that is just better and just for the fact you can see the rapper close up. It's like being front row when you didn't pay for it.

My first concert ever and still one of the best concerts was when I was 14 years old and I went to the Boys 2 Men concert with Tevon Cambell opeing and Babyface as the 2nd act. That was like R&B heaven.

:smokin Hard Knock Life tour was ill. Saw it at busted *** Cobo Arena in Detroit. Most hood show ever.

Jay was meh though. I'm sure he's stepped up his live performances now, but back then he was the worst on the tour. DMX and Red/Meth killed it. I'll never forget them bungeeing over the crowd during "How High". So dope and coincidentally, I was really, really high.

More of an underground artist? I don't think you know the definition of underground artist if you think that

My favorite underground artists, pac, big, pun, big L, and the list goes on...

Y'all can laugh all you want but to the GRAMMY CROWD nas wasn't/isn't major

There's a huge difference between the Grammy crowd not appreciating him and him being underground

Underground artists don't get on radio, BET, MTV etc

Yea I'm speaking generally on the Grammy crowd, the Grammys is for the jay z's eminem, Nicky Minaj etc etc (major artist), nos is more of a local artist, he's pretty much the New York version of zro or boosie
