I'm not talking about isray I don't frankly care what happens with him.

I could care less if isray is banned from the NFL.

He wasn't a high draft pick, he's not an integral part of the franchise, he's not catching balls on Sunday or racking up yards and TDs.

Not to mention isray and Gordon aren't on the same level.

Apples to oranges.

I don't care if Gordon gets suspended, I think is BS and as long as dude is performing I could care less if that hits that pack.

But he works for the NFL and these are their rules.

wut?

apples to oranges?

man NTers never wanna admit when they're wrong on a subject, never. First you talk about guidelines but when I talk about the double standard with Jim Irsay you backpedal.

Jim Irsay is WAY more important to his respective franchise than Gordon is to his. HES THE OWNER OF THE COLTS!!! He's responsible for an entire franchise.

 I love when ya'll BS catches up to you, only so stupid comments like this are made. Comical. Thank you Watt, definitely the highlight of this discussion. You sir are a comedic savant.

Really?

Isray owns the team, he cuts the check.

He gets suspended what happens?

I'll wait.

He's not blocking or catch for luck.

He's not rushing the ball.

He's not rushing the QB or playing defense.

Gordon on the other hand not so much,

Ask Cleveland fans what would hurt the team more? Gordon being suspended or the Owner.

dude he is responsible for an entire franchise, it's not about on-field production. it's about representing the colts and living up to the expectations of the colts faithful.

you can't be serious right now, you just CAN'T be. He's the OWNER dude. It's not about the team being hurt production wise, it really isn't. There's so much to the business side of the game an owner is responsible for.

And when we're talking about guidelines, the very guidelines you brought up, Irsay is subject to those very same guidelines. Period. And Goodell not having yet punished Irsay speaks volumes about the double standard here.

Its not fair that the owners can get away with what they want but that is just the reality of life. Just like at work our bosses can do things we cant and if we did we would get in trouble for.

Its basically one of those take it or leave it things.

Now as far as Josh Gordon goes, he knows the deal and yet he refuses to change his ways. If weed is more important to you than your career and the millions that you were about to make, you sir are a fool and should be checked into a mental institution.

Isray in my opinion isn't as important to the franchise as Gordon to the team.

Isray cuts the checks.

That's all.

Obviously this is my opinion.

fine, you're entitled to your opinion.

even if it's a completely ludicrous one.

I keep on saying that about Gordon & Blackmon they have real problems.

We aren't talking about isray.

We we talking about Gordon.

Fine suspend Isray.

Luck is still gonna be out there on Sundays trying to give Houston that work.

YOU were talking about NFL guidelines and employees.

Irsay is an employee and is subject to NFL guidelines.

So who cares that the OG topic was about Gordon? YOU brought up guidelines but you ignored the fact the NFL has failed to fairly enforce those very guidelines on all its employees equally.

Meanwhile Manziel is gonna be throwing to himself.

*shrug* at least they got Jordan Cameron and 1/2 of Miles Austin. That counts for something right?

Ogbonnaya is a pretty good at catching the ball out of the backfield too.

So the owner of the franchise is the same level as a player?

They both work under the NFL umbrella.

But are they on the same level?

If anything the owner should be held to a higher standard. There's far more responsibility on his shoulders than a players.

Again you CANNOT be serious trying to put a player above an executive in terms of liability. You can't be serious right now.

Just chill man, that makes no sense whatsoever. Chill. Go get yourself a brew and rethink that one man.

Irsay isnt an employee. Goodell is the employee of the owners which includes Irsay. Goodell knows that and hes soft with the owners.

Why else for example nothing happened to Jimmy Haslem?

I totally understand your point but thats the way it is. And it wont change.

The owner cuts the checks.

The player produces on the field.

If you want well start a thread and ask fans.

Which would hurt more, their owner suspended for what?

4-6-12 games?

Or their star player suspended for the same amount?

You think the franchise is gonna crumble and fall apart or something because he isn't in the owners box ?

Throw Bob McNair in jail for a year as long as JJ Watt is out there causing havoc.

Owners do FAR more than just "cut checks". They have to maintain the integrity of the brand and franchise. They have to keep ticket sales high. They have to price and oversee merchandise sale. They take part in crucial league decisions. They are responsible for their player's safety. They are responsible for fan safety at their games. They are responsible for fan relations. They are responsible for representing the franchise as a whole.

All Gordon has to do is catch balls.

Yeah, your argument is crap. I'm sorry bro but it is.

My argument is crap because you don't agree with it.

I could care less.

Bottom line is us NFL fans watch the league for the players and their production.

Not for the owners.

no your argument is crap because the distinction you're trying to make is not apt.

it just doesn't hold up.

no other reason. I can't agree with something that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It's completely illogical.

Owners ARE employees of the NFL. You might want to double check actual facts before posting.

K? Thanks.

So a column title lets you know that the owners of the teams are employees? lmao

The rule states that all people associated with the NFL are supposed to be held to the same policies that the players are.

I agree that it should be applied across the board but the owners are NOT employees of the NFL. Just because they signed a contract that says they are held to whatever standards, that doesnt mean that they are an employee.

But as JJ said what good is a suspension going to do with Irsay? He cant come around the team. So what? He can tell his daughter what to do.

The owners have Goodell by the balls and that goes for most sports leagues with their commissioners and owners. (Bettman and Selig)

It is what it is.

Stop bringing up Irsay and punishment.

Ray Rice knocked a woman out and still hasn't faced league discipline.

In NFL history Big Ben is the only player to be disciplined before his court case was resolved.

Ray Rice and Irsay will face league discipline in the next few weeks.

Until then don't bring him up while discussing the league punishing players

There you go. Period. We're talking guidelines right? And owners are not exempt from those guidelines, period.

If you say so dude.

Well agree to disagree cause at this point we're arguing on circles.

You don't agree with me and I don't agree with you.

There is no argument to have yet. Irsay's punishment hasn't been decided yet.

Dude I am not arguing with you that it SHOULD be the case. I'm just saying that its because hes an owner he will get more leniency and that's how it is and always will be, PERIOD.

w/e I'm just glad that the NFL has people like DeMaurice Smith speaking up about the double standard.

yes because that's exactly what would happen if the NFL changed their policy on marijuana. :rolleyes
