NFL Discussion Thread: Pats win SB XLIX. Offseason begins

I can't stand what the NFL is turning into on the field and off the field it's a mess.

If the Vikings won the Super Bowl it at least justifies, in my mind, being a fan my entire life.

That 98 team....insanity

Can't believe try lost to that Falcons team. Atl killed some NFL history right there

Today if drafting 2012 over, I'd still go RG3, Luck, then Russell Wilson (who went 75th). Still believe RG3 can return to rookie of yr RG3.

This is weird. Just two weeks ago he said he thought Bob was pretty much done and would never be able to return to his rookie year type style. Now he's calling him the best young QB

It's pretty ironic that Golden Tate is complaining about Schwartz stupid *** celebration and calling him a douche......

I'm not up in arms about it like you are. Like I said when it was first reported, I've come from and seen way worse child abuse. This is only getting recognition because it's AP.

no **** CaptainObvious23

but because you've seen way worse then it makes this case okay?

Great comeback, racist. See I can type lame comebacks as well, even though it's true but that's neither here nor there.

Like DWS said, "based on his upbringing he felt it was. I can't condemn him for that, but I do hope that he gets educated on the subject."

Simple as that. If you would like to continue this discussion, miss me with the BS when you quote me.

:wow: Stillin is a racist? please explain :nerd:

The race threads in general. pretty sure that's what he's referencing.

I only ever read the first couple pages so I wouldn't know, but his go to joke when it
comes to me, DK, or Larry David is about being on EBT or graduating from Lincoln Tech.

Jokes on him though, I dropped out of Lincoln tech and I'm only on EBT because I can just trade the cash on card for drugs.:pimp:

If Skip really wants to revisit that draft, I can understand and justify Luck over Russy despite the turnovers and one less Super Bowl, but RG3 comes in third or fourth if you include Kaep in the conversation from a year previous.

Emotional victory for Schwartz, done wonders for Buffalo's defense. But he's a better DC than HC, I'm afraid to say.

sorry if posted

Golden Tate blasts Jim Schwartz
Updated: October 7, 2014, 5:15 PM ET
By Michael Rothstein | ESPN.com

Lions wide receiver Golden Tate is annoyed after learning that the Bills' carrying of Jim Schwartz off the field Sunday was a planned move at the request of the former Detroit head coach.

The Bills carried Schwartz off the field Sunday after they beat the Lions 17-14, and after the game, his players said the now-Buffalo defensive coordinator asked them to do it before the season started.

"It's a terrible gesture. Just being a spectator, that's not the first time that he's done some things like that," Tate said Tuesday on 105.1 FM in Detroit. "One thing that I heard, I don't know how true it is, I heard that it was planned.

"Like do this if we win. That's a total douche move."

Buffalo players said after the game that Schwartz told them beating his former team would mean a lot to him. Schwartz coached five seasons in Detroit, taking the Lions to the playoffs in 2011 -- the team's only playoff appearance this century.

Tate said the gesture is something that won't go unnoticed by himself and other players and that it is possible the teams -- or at least Schwartz and some players -- will see each other down the road.

Tate said the Schwartz carry-off wasn't discussed too much in the locker room after the game or in the past two days, but that they hopefully feel good about "the Rudy moment" that Buffalo had.

Tate knows all about the Rudy story, as he went to Notre Dame. Had he been able to take action without fines, he might have done something about it, too.

"I thought it was so disrespectful. So disrespectful. I didn't like it at all," Tate said on 105.1. "If I knew I wasn't going to get fined, I would have snatched him right down off their shoulders and threw him on the ground, personally. But obviously I couldn't do that.

"But if that's what they feel was the right thing to do, then so be it. But I just thought it was a bit disrespectful to come on someone's home field because you have a past with them and kind of do that. So it is what it is and hopefully he feels better for doing it."

 @ Schwartz telling the team to carry him off the field if they won before the game

Golden Tate swear he tough yo....eh but on a serious note since when did coaches get lifted off the field on reg season wins, i thought playoffs and super bowl win mattered more meh then again it is the Bills.

At first I thought it was hilarious. I thought the players did it on their own which is so comical. When I found he asked them to, I just shook my head. Beyond corny. Golden Tate can go **** himself though. **** him.

Marrone is in the COY conversation if the Bills continue this brand of football, especially with non-existent QB play. Their defense has carried them significantly. The Week 4 Houston game was winnable as well, imagine a 4-1 Buffalo team. And I thought they would give Cleveland the first overall pick.

So embarrassing for Schwartz. Made me cringe when I read that he ASKED to be carried off field.

I felt for the Bills when they lost Kiko, but that defense stepped up. Same thing as with a lot of teams though...until there's consistent production from the Q, they'll only be tough competitors instead of a real threat.

Jets also come to mind.
