Yeah, im not mad at the punishment if it was handed down off rip.

But they pick and choose who they punish, and what the public veiws as what punishment is enough.

Like, all other unionized organizations have step by step punishment procedures that are by the book.

the punishment is deserved IMO but the way it's handled is a circus

Cris Carter going off on AP about having 7 kids and beating them the times he sees them which isn't much

The NFL continues to prove it has the worst union in sports.

Joffery Goodell strikes again

If you look back at the lockout the NFLPA was in a lose-lose situation. The owners were entirely at fault for the work stoppage but in the world of non-guaranteed contracts, fan resentment towards guys making money off "playing a game" and short playing careers, the NFLPA's focus during the lockout was on financial matters. I don't blame the NFLPA for prioritizing finances over Goodell's power. I can only imagine the media and fan pressure that would've occurred if the NFLPA held up ratifying a new CBA over Goodell's disciplinary program. I doubt the players would've been willing to give up game checks over the disciplinary program. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

He's not though. The nflpa gave him all the power he has now in the cba.

just watch; good lawyers will poke holes right through that and there will be plenty chomping at the bit to make a name for themselves against the NFL

NFL and their lawyers seem to crush all who challenge. They literally go about it with a DILLIGAF attitude and it has yet to bite them

Still hate Roger

So technically it would have been better if AP never got paid while he missed half the season already whats the point of that then?!?!

Exactly. NFLPA f'd up

True...but as the old saying goes, "absolute power corrupts absolutely". Goodell should not WANT to have that kind of power and its that power that has the NFL in this mess. Yes the players gave this away but the court of public opinion is not on Goodell's side right now. Nobody buys that he didn't see the Ray Rice tape and my first reaction after hearing the AP punishment was he was trying to make up for Rice.

If I was the NFLPA and Goodell put the collective bargaining agreement in my face every time we brought up working together to get a fair process...I would be on every radio show putting him on blast. He made it clear with Rice "his judgement alone" is not sufficient to hand out fair punishment.

If the NFLPA can get sponsors on their side or the cut their endorsements; they can get the NFL back at the table. With the NFL's current image problem that may not be too difficult.

I don't condone hitting children in any manner, but did AP actually beat the **** out of his kids? or just smack him upside his head cuz he was being bad or something? there's a difference lol haven't been following the story closely

it's one thing to say josh gordon should've been reinstated from the get go for smoking a blunt but AP deserves to be out of the league.

I don't think many feel too sorry for him, even the people that are questioning the methods of the suspension (shrug)

He'll be back and ready in 2015
