the bigger name isn't always the better player. right now, would you rather have Andre Johnson or DeAndre Hopkins?
if the Eagles draft a rb and fill other holes with the cap space than they won the trade by far. it's still up in the air right now tho.

We know RB's have a short life span but not THAT short
It's not exactly like the Eagles pounded him into the ground with 1000 carries the way the Cowboys did for Demarco.
Shady was mad fresh near the end of the season.
He has a lot left in the tank.
Business wise? It might make sense.
But don't count shady out.
Dude has plenty of explosiveness left for at least a few more years.

I thought both teams should've kept their respective players, but both are beasts and will thrive wherever they end up.

Eagles weakness is defense, you might not find another Lesean McCoy but a RB is the easiest position to fill in the NFL
you grab someone like Spiller and draft a back like Gurley, Duke or Melvin along with signing Maxwell and a 2nd tier CB like Flowers then you did pretty good IMO

Again, I understand it. Their defense needs help and they can draft a RB and have a formidable run game still at a cheaper cost.
Business wise, get it.
But let's not just act like he's washed. A few red zone/goal line carries handed to him last year instead of Sproles or Polk and his whole stat line for the season looks entirely different.
It's just funny that graphs and charts and all kinds of "science" and stats come out the wood works the minute he's traded to try and discount his skill.
When your starting QB starts the season going on an interception spree, then goes down early in the season, your secondary gets embarrassed and beat down by players like Dez on a weekly basis, you find yourself playing catch up in games which means more passing and more Sproles, AND Mark Sanchez finishes the season as your QB... You're not going to have the same "production" as you did with your playoff team the year before.
The circumstances are being swept under the rug just to help your arguments of him not being as good anymore.
All the details matter when it comes to "production" in the NFL.

With shady he was dancing way too much looking for the home run instead of getting north and south..
