OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Just reactivated the league that I run. While looking through the history for it I realized that ESPN has been recycling the same exact schedule for the past 3 years :x . Not sure how I or any of my boys never noticed it .

We switch up the divisions based on draft order (odds and evens) evey year, and with this year's current schedule, each team has only 6 divisional matchups out of 13 regular season weeks.

It's a 10 team league, and ideally I'd like every team to play each divisional opponent twice (8 games) and then each non-divisional opponent once (5 games) making it an all around even schedule.

This is what I'm thinking:

Week 1 - vs. Divisional Team A
Week 2 - vs. Divisional Team B
Week 3 - vs. non-Divisional Team A
Week 4 - vs. non-Divisional Team B
Week 5 - vs. Divisional Team C
Week 6 - vs. Divisional Team D
Week 7 - vs. non-Divisional Team C
Week 8 - vs. Divisional Team A
Week 9 - vs. Divisional Team B
Week 10 - vs. non-Divisional Team D
Week 11 - vs. non-Divisional Team E
Week 12 - vs. Divisional Team C
Week 13 - vs. Divisional Team D

Gonna have to discuss it with the rest of the league but this seems like the simplest way for every team to have an even schedule, right? Or does anyone else have any other ideas?

Definitely. Could, at worst, be a trade piece for you to possibly land another RB or WR. Or, you could play him && likely watch him flourish this year

Thomas is gonna kill it this season with Decker gone. Not a bad team at all.

Is Andre Brown available? if so you need to pick him up since you have Foster

You're wasting a roster spot by having Christine Michael. Lynch has the backfield to himself now

I wouldn't have drafted Welker since you already had DT. I also wouldn't have drafted Cameron since you're not required to start a TE. I assume you grabbed them in back to back rounds (4-5 or 5-6)? Would've rather grabbed another WR and RB than those 2 guys. Lacks a little depth too but other than that I think the team is pretty solid.

I remember last year they had a free 1 week trial with a special code. I just kept signing up under different emails . I liked how you could input your league's scoring system and export an Excel file of their rankings.

Anyways, if you play FanDuel, they're offering a free 6 month subscription if you make a $25 deposit. That's what I'm gonna do. Best of both worlds, I made some bank playing FanDuel last year .

I don't know why, but I have always liked Welker even after last year. Also, our LM changed one of the WR to a WR/TE position and I got Cameron at 94th overall.

Yea, always good to have multiple options/perspectives. Have you checked out fantasypros.com? They're pretty good...got rankings if you need them, && their mock draft simulator is pretty clutch too...customizable && with expert-driven simulated picks, unlike some human mock drafters who take Ben Tate in the 3rd round for inexplicable reasons.

^^ Worth the try imo. $25 is cheaper than what they're charging for a 6 month subscription anyway, and that should last you the entire fantasy season. Plus you could get lucky and win a few bucks in the process .

There are some good free sites out there though. Like he ^ said, FantasyPros is good, as well as FFToolbox.

A anderson oh ok Cameron at 94 isn't a bad pick then. Still think 2 WRs from the same team is a no-no though. Could've maybe went Dez instead of DT or took a different WR where you got Welker. Someone like Roddy, Garçon, or Crabtree.

Totally agree with the crazy amount of depth. But the top 5 or so guys are gonna produce unlike anyone else so I think it's to your advantage to secure one of them.

It's true though. Never reach for the elite WR IMO. Better to make sure you have two above average RBs because you are NOT finding stopgaps for that position in later rounds.
