APPLE EVENT JUST STARTED!!!!!!!

I have a 15 MBP early 11 8GB that runs great but the battery is buns. I am not sure what my next laptop will be. I am eager to wait until something like the surface pro 4 or whatever apple has to match. I love the idea of a legitimate portable PC/Mac
Go to apple pay like 120 and get a new battery famb

Yeah I was gonna do that. I am gonna have this until it dies. I was kind of just thinking out loud

Just make sure that the replacement battery will actually last 5 hours.

The replacement battery from apple is rated at 2.5 stars, due to them crapping out after a year.

I think you'll have to check with apple to see if it's a newly manufactured battery.

you think its worth doing that to my 09 joint?

It's worth doing it for any computer. If you think your computer is fine now you will blow your knickers when the first time you boot up your computer

Ssd is probably the realest upgrade you can get for a computer

Pretty much. I'm not sure about blowing your knickers or whatever that means

But yeah a SSD will increase the speed and performance of your notebook by a large margin. The read/write speeds of a SSD is much faster than a HDD

Its not going to make up for the processor or anything, but it'll bring a new extended life period to your MBP.

I would say, if you are satisfied with everything else regarding your notebook except for small speed issues like opening files and starting programs, SSD fills those gaps

Get a solid state drive famb.

Run the OS and all of your software from the SSD and then use your HDD to store media

Swap the optical drive out for the SSD

Lag will be gone. OS will boot faster and you'll get faster app load times

Details? in that case the SSD doesn't have to be that big correct?

Naw, a 120gb or 250gb SSD would be just fine unless you plan on installing tons of applications

Heres a rundown between the two

Thanks man

has anyone installed an ssd or an ssd hyrid into their mac?

If so, how are you liking it?

Was it worth it?

ssd = worth it

performance increases of up to 300% - program loading times - startup times - files open faster etc.

on a macbook it will help save battery power too.. and is less likely to fail if you drop your laptop

Everything loads super fast. Whether its the macbook itself booting up or programs, everything loads fast.

I've also dropped my Macbook like 10 times already from 3-4 feet and it's still going strong (knock on wood).

It's only 128 gb tho. So I don't keep music files or anything like that.

Yeah I need to invest in a battery and am SSD. I don't need too much space. My MBP already has 8 GB of ram so I am guessing it will be a whole new computer.

what's noice about it?

Solid state drives, or SSDs, are popping up more frequently in notebooks, most notably in the Apple MacBook Air and the Lenovo ThinkPad X300. Thanks to a lack of moving parts, these flash-based storage solutions consume less power than traditional hard disks (check out our blog post, SSDs Better for Battery Life) and offer superior durability.

half the boot time

Rumors popping up about why apple bought beats along with some new info. In a nutshell, apple wants to make beats headphones proprietary and the only headphones you can use on Apple products without an adapter.

the beats earbuds are trash. and i never got earbuds with my htc one. supposedly they came with the phone overseas though. i dont see them giving away beats earbuds with the iphone cuz that means they might as well shut down production on ipod earbuds. itd be a cannibalistic move

Maybe we will just have much better speakers on the actuall phone. Wouldn't hurt.
a la HTC ONE? i dont think thatll show up til 2015 or 2016. Expect "Beats Audio" on your phone though, which is really just an EQ that boosts the bass and treble.

100% doubt apple would change their main eq settings for beats. Beats EQ is not why they were bought and Beats EQ is still being changed, it is not ready to be a EQ default, especially for apple consumers. I doubt we will see much Beats brand integration on IOS besides the music service and accessories.

Anyone upgrade to Yosemite? This thing is so unstable.. I told me I would receive performance issues so I'm going to let it sit then restart but I almost died when FCPX broke luckily theirs a work around but so far it isnt that pleasing to the eyes as it looked on WWDC. I am literally only using it because I could boost my productivity ALOT with the Handoff capabilities with IOS8
