Why does J Cole think hiding is gonna be good for his career?? Vol Milk Carton overdue

Speaking of Kendrick Lamar...

He's probably in top 5 most popular rappers in the game right now...and he hasn't dropped an album in 2 years. Is there anyone saying he needs to drop soon or he'll be forgotten about?

NT is constantly bashing cole saying he isn't relevant blah blah blah... then he's back with a top 10 hit and selling Gold on albums and doing huge shows & headlining tours. People just like to say things about Cole because it's the cool thing to do along with acting Like Drake is putting out classic verses everytime he touches a Mic & spits some very mediocre bars with a great hook.

It's getting old actually, & when Kendricks new **** drops :smh:, this is why you got a cohesive album with tons of levels too it, because he's out here Working on his craft and touring non stop

I think hes just waiting until the right time. Nobody wants to drop an album when Wayne's about to drop

Cuz he's not always on the scene most people underestimate his fan base but they are loyal. Cole is a real good rapper, I always like his features but I can't really get into his music. Maybe if he let some other dudes produce for him.

^
I feel the same way he definitely a good rapper with a legit fan base but I just can't get into dude like that. I did like some of the tracks on FNL tho

As a fan I love when artists are constantly dropping music for me to listen to but at the same time it's not always good for the artist themselves. People consume the **** so quick nowadays it's either forgotten when somebody new drops or dudes just get fatigued on your sound

With that said y'all ****** are tripping if you think he done it's only like 7-8 rap artists capable of doing 300k first week in this climate

OP, calm down. He dropped "Revenge of the Nerds" tape like two months ago. His "She Knows" single is still on TV. And "My Negro Just Made Bail" is also getting play on YouTube.

yo that made bail song is sooooooo smooth.

but, cole does need to make at least 1 guest verse commercially soon. i understand what dudes are saying. and part of coles problem IS his production. it takes hype away from him in the current music climate where who made the beat (unfortunately) carries so much weight. not to mention, he could go to BETTER producers to improve the overall quality of his music. now im not saying his beats are BAD, but there are definitely producers who would help his music get to the next level. i know he does it for control and royalty reasons but, for the sake of MUSIC he needs to let that ideology go.

kendrick hasnt disappeared. kendrick is still in commercials and guest verses so nobody will forget him. Cole just puts on an invisibility cloak.

With The Dreamville records deal, This summers Dollar and a Dream tour, Made in America, etc. I'm pretty sure he's staying busy. I didn't love Born Sinner by any stretch, but I know Cole will have more good tracks out soon enough. Can't rush the process.

maybe he'll finally release the tracks that didnt make it onto sideline story. there were like 3 that were CRAZY and he never did anything with em.

Dude just drop my ***** just made bail with Bas , he is trying to promote all of those other artist on his label , he play it smart tho , make you appreciate the music even more , plus dude said in a interview he doesnt like the limelight that much .

you talking about night rider and all those extra tracks ? im still waiting for dude to drop the good son part 2 .

to think Drake and Cole would be the new Jay/Nas
mean.gif
.....Drake is a couple endorsements away from being the new Jay, Cole is on that Nas route, only pops up when dropping something new and lets the music keep him relevant

He be ight. I hope the next project I can bump straight through better though.

I'd say they're both in good company then. Though I'm not into their music as I much as I'm into Jay & Nas', can't really front on their impact and potential going forward.

Yea night rider, too late, and another one I forgot the name of. But people would REALLY appreciate those tracks. He's tripping.

That Kendrick lamar control verse really did affect his work after the verse drop.. I've heard nothing new from J.Cole except tko remix..

Coles been reported dropping into studios in LA over the last year numerous times, recording music.

He clearly ain't sleepin.
He has a plan.

The dollar and a dream tour he's doing again this summer ain't just for fun. I'm sure it'll be to promote something new.

Dude knows what he's doing. You can't really argue with the results.

Pretty much. I said the same thing before Born Sinner dropped, and I was wrong.

His numbers may be nice on album releases but he doesn't keep himself relevant. That's the argument. Like I said he needs like.. One mainstream feature on a song just to stay in the forefront of people's minds. When people start to think you're falling off its never good. Half the people in here don't even know made bail exists

^ I always thought the same thing. Friday Night Lights is still my favorite Cole project. but if only Cole saved the best tracks from The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights for his first album, he woulda had a classic debut IMO.

This is dumb.

If he saved all his good tracks he'd still be looking for a debut album date.

Those mixtape tracks is what created the buzz for him to get an album released.

As far as Cole hiding, it's whatever. I know when he do drop it's gonna be heat rock

Internet ****** up the way people consume music.

It has indeed......I just figure people would rather have quality over quantity. Thats what I prefer and J. Cole delivers quality. This Cole is irrelevant talk is non-sense. What good is putting out music all the time if its not good?! Quality should factor in an artists relevance IMO.

your argument assumes that cole would put out poor quality music if he dropped more which i really dont agree with. he could let go of old tracks that have no place anymore just to keep fans happy if he wanted.
