Considering how revered Jordan's 11 is, gotta think Kobe wants to get on that level (if nothing else, at least they made their back story a lot more interesting, as opposed to having to hear how his next season-ending injury inspired the shoe)

I quit Jays years ago but have nothing but respect for his legendary designs. I havent kept up with any new releases that hes designed, if any. Anyone know or got a link?
 
I think he will stick to the fkyknit roots. In an interview he said the 9 was one of the greatest designs he's seen and wished he created it.
 
I hope its more a collaboration of work between Tinker and Avar, Eric Avar has done some amazing things with the Kobe line so the combination of the two should produce a classic. 
 
Avar should have a hand in the process. On the other hand I think Avar would step aside and let Tinker do his thing. I don't expect anything crazy from Tinker. Performance and tech probably will be the focus.

Somebody start a XI thread already :lol:
 
Yeah, they should be pretty far along already, definitely past the design phase at this point. I'd imagine they're probably ready to go to production soon if they haven't already started. Very curious to see what they came up with if Tinker had a hand in the design. I'd be kinda surprised if Avar was completely left out though even if Tinker was the main designer.
 
Anxious to see what we have coming. I have high hopes. How crazy that tinker is gonna help design kobes shoe for his final championship season... (sarcasm)
 
I agree with Tinker's statement on the 9 being one of the best shoes.

I don't own 1 pair either, but that thing is so pretty.

Drills look good on feet, wore them to do some Catfishing and we bodied the whole pond

I love the way the 9's look the best too, but the X's fit my feet and feel so much better.  

It's such a difference for my feet that I put on my Beethoven 9's a week ago and was actually disappointed.
 
^ thats funny, i actually put on my Beethovens today for the first time in several months. I think ive only worn em 2x. Ive been selling some kicks lately that i dont need and was kinda on the fence on these. I was surprised they were more comfy than i remembered. I dont like the way they squeak though (which is why Im selling all my 8s). Leaning towards cutting them...
